First, the "pin" isn't the "award".. the real award is recognition,
and the pin brings the boy back to *rememberence..

We celibrate Communion with great reverence to the sacrifice of our Lord.
We do that in *Rememberence..

Boys give up a little of 'self in sacrifice to rise to the mark of a
Royal Ranger advancement. We 'recognize that. the pin helps them *remember

What we want them to do is "streach" enough to feel the honor  in
achievement.. and to be recognized before their peers. We
"beleve" that this process inspires grater achievement, and
a hunger to know deeply in their "knower" what the porgram/ministry
is about. The reciept of the pin at the time of the awarding of
the rank, indicates a progressive maturity to self management.

This is why we have advancements.

Now!.. when someone seems to not reflect the values expected..
of say a GMA, it is in some small way simular to a person not
knowing the full measure of Christ's sacrifice, and partakeing
in Communion for other reason less nobel.
