I think here we are talking about a totally different ball game.
Look at post-war Germany.
It was divided into four occupation sectors.
After the dust settled we had friendly, not so friendly and "ugly"
occupators.
I live in the British/American sector.
Most of the boys wanted to wear some uniform piece of these forces. I for
example proudly wore an surplus Ike jacket and surplus combat boots .

At one occasion I was approached by a fellow whom I did not see for years
asking me where I was stationed.
He was kind of envious because it was the dream of many of us young guys to
immigrate to the States to return as a GI .
And then to show off on Sundays slowly cruising thru your hometown with a
Chevy borrowed from a fellow "real American", in GI-uniform and to impress
the girls and friends. Cool.
I wore my Ike jacket with the ARMY emblem still on it.
Surplus stores would sell tons of military gear and it was worn by young and
old.
Even to Christian events.
The contact to the troops was friendly, if not brotherly.

The story was different in the not so friendliy sector, the french sector.
Nobody wore any french uniform piece, except maybe by "traitors".

Then in the "ugly" sector with the Russians, the people hated these .
Frequent uprisings attest to this fact.
And so it was with the Romans in Jesus's time.

Jesus did not hate the Romans at all, but He was sensitive and He would not
wear a surplus Roman breastplate.
But I can imagine if the Romans would have been friendly forces with giving
the Jews the freedom to care for their own business as the Americans let us
Germans do it,
Then I can imagine that Jesus would have worn a surplus Roman Ike-jacket.
To work and also to play.

But not to official Royal Ranger meetings.

I hope I did not tip the boat.

Nope I really don't see Jesus wearing a Roman soldier outfit. Not even for
work or play. Especially He would never wear it when ministering to others.
