I am a red cross first aid/cpr instructor. To get the certification, you
must do the following:

1. pass the courses that you want to teach. ($60)
2. Attend a red cross "methods of instruction class" - 8 hr class($40)
3. Attend a 16 hour instructor training course - ($100)

After this, you must teach a class at least once every 2 years to keep your
certification current.

Our church paid for my certification so that I would be able to teach it to
Rangers, church staff, sunday school teachers, and church members. I've
been an instructor now for 7 years.

Costs listed above are approximate.
