It might be silly but if the manual says something then I accept it for
what it says.  When it says something that isn't available anymore then
pick up the phone and get a ruling from the guy who writes the manual.  

Its a done deal.  

In 20 years I have  had more first aid courses paid for by the company
that I work for.  I know first aid and CPR Red Cross style.  In our
Outpost we haven't taught first aid in years because the manual says "RED
CROSS CERTIFIED" and yet we have more then 4 nurses in our church that
could teach first aid and cpr.  
We are going to start teaching our Boys First Aid and CPR and the 35
dollars per boy per 8 hour class the RED Cross gets will be better spent
in our Outpost.

First Aid and CPR is indeed a very valuable training.  Our leaders and
boys will know First Aid / CPR it just won't read "Red Cross Standard
First Aid Course".
