Isn't that "National Training"?For better or worse, this is getting away from patrol system. The new OSC (Outdoor Skills Campout) which will take the place of the LTC campout, quit the patrol method. National Academy uses teams, and so does the new ANTC.

The new training program that will be released next year has provided more focused training on the patrol method, not reduced it. The patrol method will be mentioned in the very first course in the Leadership Training Academy (LTA) as part of the discussion on the local organizational structure. Yes, the training camp-out has eliminated the patrol method, because the objective of that camp is to train leaders how to take a new group of boys on a camp-out. The objective of that camp is not to teach the patrol method. NTC has always had that as one of its primary objectives, and that objective will continue. ANTC also uses the patrol method -- it simply starts with an assumption that you already learned the patrol method at NTC, and now you can put it in practice like we hope any established outpost would be able to do.

In the LTA, we have strengthened the emphasis on the patrol method by creating a new 4-hour training module on the patrol method -- much more training than we have ever had before in the LTC. This new module will be released next March along with the rest of the new program.
