Just to clarify my original comment re Zone Alarm - the problem I have experienced with ZA is when I download an RBase update (RGB7xyz.exe).
If I downloaded these on my laptop, which has ZA, I usually ended up with an error message telling me that the file was corrupted when I tried to run the file. Downloading these on my PC at work, which has no ZA, gave no problems, so I finally tried turning off ZA on the laptop to download these, and they then worked properly. Given this experience I just suggested that it may help Paula's problem - obviously it wasn't the issue in this case, but it is now apparent that others have experienced a similar problem with downloading the EXE files with ZA running. Hopefully this information may just save someone else from wasting time trying to sort out why an EXE update doesn't work. I still get the "Action Cancelled" notification in the right hand window, -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Paula Stuart Sent: Monday, July 18, 2005 1:54 PM To: RBG7-L Mailing List Subject: [RBG7-L] - RE: Help Files Don't work SUCCESS Jan, that's consistent with the system I'm using I have XP Pro, with no Zone Alarm. I think it was the XP Security that blocked the files. This was done on a laptop with out virus protection. I think it was the XP Pro Security Firewall that did it. I believe we might need to allow an exception to whatever Rbase server is being used.
