Hi,
If you compare both versions using REALbasic 5.5.5 as base (forget added
features), stay with REALbasic 5.5.5 until you fall into a trap, then read the
Release Notes (of course with Release Notes Browser) and search if that bug have
been removed. If this is a showstopper, upgrade, else try to work-aound 'till a
real showstopper...
I am using REALbasic 2006r1 standard on Linux and I prefer REALbasic 5.5.5...
BTW: if you measure boot time for REALbasic 5.5.5 and REALbasic 2005r4 on
Macintosh / Mac OS X [10.3.9 for me], you will stop saying the time is the
same... REALbasic 5.5.5 is faster on that one!
Oh, this is unfortunate, giving all the work RS engineers have done to produce
the 200x versions. People, I support you, go ahead, and as usual, give us (you
included) the best possible REALbasic !
Sadly,
Emile
