I'm a European user and IMO this was a good move from RS, despite the country location. To me it does not make any difference if the EU HQ is located in France or UK or elsewhere, as long as I have access to everything that a US user has.
I'm sure RS selected France for some reason and if you read carefully the Press Release you will see the tone is concentrated on "French versions of RB to French-speaking developers". So, one of the reasons *might* be that French users (from all other EU countries) are more reluctant in using an RB English version than a RB French version, while users from other EU countries don't have that problem. Other great change is the ability to EU users (from almost EU countries) to buy/upgrade licenses directly from RS. I don't understand why RS keeps the following on their web site: "In [In should be If - typo from RS page] you live within the European Union you may purchase from any distributor within the EU; you are not limited to the distributor that represents your country." <http://www.realsoftware.com/store/distributors.php> Currently this is not correct because a user from Austria, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium and Luxemburg cannot buy directly from RS France site and are redirected to the distributors page. TIP to RS webmaster: On page http://www.realsoftware.com/store/distributors.php: 1. Your website still shows "Nova International" as a distributor for some countries at: 2. Correct the typo you have on "In you live within the European...". "In" should be "If".
