To all the RB pros,

Why is it that RB would be slower?

I know that RB is not optimized, but is the performance penalty that evident?

For most applications*, the lack of optimization isn't a big deal, but for game engines that must do math on millions and millions of points and polygons at more than 30 times per second, optimization becomes critical.

I'm not trying to discount the value of an optimizing compiler -- I personally think it's important to have. However, most optimizations that applications benefit from are changes in algorithms. Until we perfect our top-secret ESP module, though, we'll have to reevaluate our algorithms ourselves :)

*I realize I'm making a large, sweeping generalization, and *your* particular app may not be in this group. However, most desktop applications seem to spend most of their time sitting idle waiting for user input.
