Hi Mike,

I can say that I have recently been in your shoes. I spent 15 years as a
pediatric nurse. I never loved or was passionate about that career, but
never knew what I did want to do. I finally had inspiration a little over
18mos ago, that I really wanted to work with books, and imagined a website
called I just finished... promoting people to talk about what they were
reading. At the time, I was a very casual internet user. I had to learn a
ton, and I am sure went the hard way tons of times. I took some classes,
watched a ton of videos, took some one on one sessions, and felt overwhelmed
a lot! The means to the end was that I had to learn not only web design,
but code, and development, but SEO and internet marketing as well. In the
last year and a half, I have learned enough to know that I have a TON to
learn, but the site is up and a side development comany is making money (I
have a partner now), and I learn volumes everyday.

Not sure if I would have done it differently, maybe just asked more
questions and gone to more meetings...
I am sure that the lessons I have paid for have been helpful, but not
amazingly so. It was better to meet people who I could ask questions of, as
they arise.
Have a great day!
