So yes I found the 'DISC#' field contained strings " 1 / 2" etc. Changing them to "1/2" etc (using tag&rename) resolved the problem. Still I think it should go on the slim server bug list because it could easily handle this and make it less of a problem for users.
Here is a screen shot of how my 2 CD Requiem now looks in the slim server album list (notice the play order is all correct): www.willyhoops.com/images/slimproblem3.gif ----------------------- I see adamslim's comment below on multi cd sets. I think he is suggesting using a program like tag and rename to rebuild all the track information so that a 2 CD set looks like a one cd set with more tracks and a long play time. Yes that's another way, and arguably simpler, although you loose the disc and track information forever. Also would media player ever find album art in the future? What about other media players (eg iPod or Olive Opus), if they didn't have the multi disc option like slim server then it would be better than what I have done above. Not sure... maybe someone who has tried both can chime in... Alternatively he might be suggesting rebuilding the classic CD or CD set as one huge long track using some special program that inserts pauses between tracks. I am not sure what program this would be, and whilst I agree it's going to tidy up the browse by artists functionality I think it's nicer to see individual tracks and information on them. In the UK we have a radio station called Classic FX and thery would certianly prefer their CD to remain split by track because they generally pull out one track at a time so you three minutes of Mozart's movement X from syphony Y, followed by three minutes of Brahms' Y etc... Thanks all for you help. -- willyhoops ------------------------------------------------------------------------ willyhoops's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10563 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=33436 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
