Are you doing 'Test & Copy' or just 'Copy'? Test and Copy will
immediately double your ripping time.

Are you encoding in the background? Particularly if you're doing lossy
compression, say to MP3 using LAME, then you'll want to encode in the
background while the next track is being read. In EAC's main Options,
under 'Tools' set 'On extraction, start external compressors queued in
the background' to at least 1.

If you're using AccurateRip, and ripping fairly popular CDs, there may
be no reason to use Secure mode until you've ripped and found that the
album isn't in the AccurateRip database. The usual operating procedure
would be to rip in Burst mode, check the log output, then rip in Secure
mode if you don't get AccurateRip verification that all of the tracks
were ripped successfully.

For my collection... mostly jazz, with some CDs that I've owned for 20
years, I find the AccurateRip database coverage to be poor, so I tend
to use Secure mode with Test & Copy all of the time. I have a Plextor
PX712-A drive, but I'd say my ripping times are about 1/2 of what
you're seeing - 12 to 18 minutes.
