Thanks very much for this helpful and well-tailored feedback. In my reading of others' posts, I was afraid that AAC wouldn't work well with the squeezebox duet. It would be nice if those 700 CDs don't have to be reburned. I like the idea of going to a lossless format for the 300 or so I have left to do for him (perhaps Apple Lossless as recommended, since my husband uses iTunes to manage his music; from what I understand I could always convert to another lossless format if his strategy changes in the future).
