Like I have said if you are moving > away from Itunes then dbpoweramp or EAC will serve you well for ripping. Itunes is pretty good at aac or apple losseless but it's not a secure ripper even then. You never know for sure if you have a good rip until you listen to it. With both EAC and dbpoweramp you will know for sure. That is one of the benefits. One of the many benefits of dbpoweramp is the excellent tagging that you get with it. Itunes is pretty good also at tagging but it doesn't seem to share well with other programs as it is like most Apple things. They want to be your one and only source for all things music. But SC is pretty good at playing most formats now and you shouldn't have any problems. You would have a bit of an advantage using flac or mp3 as they are native but if you're not having problems now then you shouldn't need to fret over it. I guess that you just have to decide if you are going to have a huge amount of new albums that would make it worth while to change now or stay the same. Regardless make sure you rip to apple lossless now for archiving your albums and not lossy. That way you will be able to convert your library to whatever comes next in the world of portables. It's proof that if I can figure some of this out, anyone can. :)
PS: I think your are pretty cool looking out for your husband. My wife just cares enough to tell me to turn it down. :) -- Nonreality -IF THE RULE YOU FOLLOWED BROUGHT YOU TO THIS, OF WHAT USE IS THE RULE.- HTTP://www.last.fm/user/nonreality ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Nonreality's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=15723 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51538 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
