Not quite. It is a two stage process. First it records the LP (there is a pause button so you can flip it over) into a single large WAV file. You can set this up how you like, so I set this to encode 24/88.2. I then listened to this WAV file which showed up the distortion. I listened both through SIA and through dbPoweramp and both sounded distorted. The second stage with SIA is a utility that allows you to chop the larger WAV file up into separate tracks. This cleverly automatically titles the tracks (Artist-Album-Track number-track name.WAV) and suggests break points based upon meta-data drawn from an internet database. You can fine tune it by dragging the start and end points of each track in a graphical display while monitoring the results. All very convenient, but these separate files were downsampled to 16/44.1 by default. There was no way of setting a different output format. I might do this, but a time-benefit analysis would probably point out that I am unlikely to hear the difference and the extra time needed to identify the end points of the tracks and type in the track titles will probably make it more bother than it is worth. I have quite a neat workflow going with SIA to produce the tracks as separate WAV files, dbPoweramp for FLAC conversion and Tag&Rename for taking the title and turning it into metadata. It is a shame that SIA does not support FLAC with tagging.
