Hi I came across this post whilst transferring some vinyl to mp3 so thought I would stick my oar in. I agree with Pat Farrell which is to get a good turntable and avoid the 'usb' turntables as they are generally poor quality. I bought a Numark for a £100 and it was rubbish so I sent it back. I am now lucky enough to have a Rega 3 turntable and have bought an ARTcessories USB Phono Plus (about £100) which is great. I record from turntable via Phono Plus uisng Audacity on the PC. Then I export as WAV and then compress using EAC. You then have to tag the mp3 which takes time but it's worth it for rare vinyl or if you just want to save buying the CD. Alternatively I have seen ads for companies that will transfer them for you. Good luck! Limey
