But it will be such a subtle difference that I really don't care.
- my ears won't get better
- technology might
- I guess the difference that technology will make will be absorbed by
the surroundings. I think the reflections present in my living room are
worse than any subtle change the mp3-codec at high bitrates will do to
the material. Even the processors in AV-converters change the material
more than mp3 at high bitrates (or do you turn of every effect ?).

For the same reason I'm saving pictures with jpg and don't feel too bad
that I didn't use gif :) 
And there it's even worse, because at least there you are able to
really show the side effects by zooming.
