dbpoweramp is good for folks who don't mind paying and want everything
done for them at once at rip time.  i just won't pay, when something as
quality as EAC is available for free.  i should donate to andre tho,
he's earned it.

one of the improvements to EAC, is that there is now a grid, as opposed
to a slash system, for artists and titles.  much, much better.  its not
worth written explanation, just see how it works now insofar as the top
levels vs the grid.  very elegant.  it also "guesses" as you write,
which i find very useful.  but still no tick box for comps or writing
comp tags.

something else, is that it supports freedb and now others too, like
cuetools DB, and a pay one called gd3 or something like that.  i've
read it can be "hacked" to use gracenote or others as well.
