EAC used to do something for compilations where the tracks would show
titles (before ripping) like "ARTIST / TITLE"

It would then break out the actual tags accordingly so that you
wouldn't have to mess with Various as an artist and enter your own
artists.

This behavior was another reason I switched to dBPowerAmp.  I generally
find it gets the compilations right in terms of artists, album artists,
etc.  I think it automatically adds the compilation tag as well.  I've
only been using it for a year, so I haven't actually come across a
compilation album, yet (I don't tend to buy them).
