Thanks for the incredibly detailed info on DVD formats. I guess I got lucky when I bought DVD-R disks--I really didn't know what I was doing, but I needed something quick.

I have two DVD burners. One is in my new Macintosh PowerBook G4--it's called a super drive. The other is an external firewire drive on my Macintosh Titanium G4--it's a Kangaru brand that can even do the double density disks.

I downloaded the SuSE 9.2 DVD image and burned the disk today on the super drive built into my PowerBook G4. When I was finished, I put the disk in my PC and it booted and ran perfectly. Guess I must have done something right.
