Hello Thorsten, I have the latest svn compiling as I write. I have also reviewed the commit in the repository. When I've actually tried the feature I will give focused feedback. Thank you for taking the initiative on this.
However, I would like to note a couple things: * The Dialog box uses Qt3 heavily -- which you referenced. So this will need to be replaced before it is accepted. We are still somewhat dependent on Qt3, but RG is not accepting any new features using Qt3. Qt3 is pretty much dead and we have already experienced several issues with conflicts in the code when using the Qt3 compatibility library. I know this is a first attempt and you just want some quick feedback, so I imagine there is probably every intent to using Qt4 in any final version. * Second, I imagine this could end up a large under taking as the details are hammered out. I would like to see this development completed in a branch. That has been our pattern for some time here at RG when new features are added being coded. This is not a hard run, by any means. But, it really helps to keep trunk stable and usable on most occasions. Coding in a also avoid leaving trunk in an unstable state for any substantial time period. So, I ask before you proceed with any other coding that you create a branch in the repository and work form there. Here is a link that may be of use to get you started. http://rosegardenmusic.com/wiki/dev:branching If you choose to branch while doing this code, I would also like to see this first attempted reverted. Thank you for your efforts thus far. Sincerely, Julie S. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ _______________________________________________ Rosegarden-devel mailing list [email protected] - use the link below to unsubscribe https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/rosegarden-devel
