Yes, there really is. It's a lot of work for something that seems so small
and simple.

Probably fine.

The KDE model has Settings->Configure $APP_NAME ->Configure Menus ->Configure
Shortcuts ->Configure Toolbars.
The absence of the KDE model is what everyone is crying about, so I think it
would probably be fine to do these under Edit as separate menu entries, KDE-
style, except we're using the Edit menu like everything in the GNOME world, so
Edit->Preferences ->Shortcuts ->Menus, and so on.

Who knows, but KDE has all this junk. Print, New, Current Scheme, Export, and
so on and so forth. The KDE widget we lost is really very complicated (at
least in KDE 4, which is the only thing I have available for reference).
All a fat lot of bother for nothing if you ask me, of course. Don't take
anything I'm saying for a demand or a set of requirements. If what you come
up with is a hideous unworkable mess, I'll do the absolute minimum necessary
to make it at least slightly tolerable in the scheme of things, and run with
it. You're doing a dirty job Thorsten. You're a brave man.
