Bob, you son-of-a-gun, you did it!!!  I unsoldered the throw bar and still had 
the short.  After reading you post I removed all the spikes from one of the 
point rails...THE SHORT IS GONE :o)  I didn't think any spikes were close 
enough to touch no matter how crooked they went in.  What a great way to start 
the new year.  It was worth the price of admission to this group!  Thank-you,

This is a long shot, but you might check and make sure two track
spikes didn't make contact next to the closure rail/frog gap after you
drove them in. I know this is unlikely, but with Nicholson's Law
floating around out there. . .
