Frankly, I think the confusion happened before delivery, I had understood from Jon Botten, perhaps mistakenly, that it would be the brass sheet and wood, or the brass sheet alone, the mfr. would not do a version that had neither the brass or wood. This is why I figure I'm out of luck, the brass sheet and bracing are probably soldered together and separating them without a big mess is not doable. DJE

I've seen several photos, I think Dave Engle wanted to model that, regrettably it doesn't interest me... I assume everyone understands that the "real" wood on the Cryer Gray models is inside lining only. The exterior sides on the car are wood grain brass. Same concept as the flooring of the RRM 125-ton well-hole flat cars (NYC and C&O prototypes).
