For Friday night fun, Steve Doyle and I ran over to the Convention Center in
St. Paul to set up my "S Scale kids layout" The PPSSW guys have a 20 foot
display with Tom Lennon's switching layout in it and quite a bit of other S
items, The kids layout is down further in the hall but in a great location.
The layout itself is 5 X 9 SHS sectional track and deep flanges but we do allow
the kids to run the trains put "stuff" in open top cars and enjoy the parts of
the hobby that caught my interest when I was a small boy. Steve was contacted
to see if the owner of Scenic Express could come over and see his layout, it
would be fun if this could happen over the weekend.
I have completed a nice structure kit for a friend and will start on my H10-44
soon. I am bringing the kit to a meeting of the Minneapolis Northfield and
Southern Railway historical group to compare details with the prototype. Of
course, showing off the beautiful kit is another good reason to bring it over.
