My FNF was finally discovering the cause of a persistent momentary short
whenever my ALCO Models RS units would pass over the Scale Track switch off of
the East leg of the Wye at Mooar Yard. Worse, the short only occurred in one
direction.

After almost a week of severe head scratching and chin stroking, I finally
found that the low-hanging gearbox covers were contacting a burr (yes, a
BURR!)on one of the closure rails. A few strokes with a file and, case closed.
Nicholson's Law in one of its finest moments!

Otherwise, I moved the spur switch for the stub track off of the scale track to
the end of the runaround and installed a simulated scale, thus the runaround,
while still used as such, is now the Scale Track. Still to come is the scale
house, for which the foundation is now "laid" The spur extending from the far
end of the Scale Track will become a piggyback track (or, "Pig Track") for an
anticipated piggyback service.
