Forgot to mention, if my sources are correct the wheel size for the E 
units was 36" vs the typical 40".  I would imagine that this was to 
match up with streamlined passenger cars.  At any rate one could still 
use the gearbox but substitute wheels from the FA, or Sd-40s.
