Size in it's self is not bad, it's the complexity that most folks build into
the size that is hard to handle. A 12X45 foot space can hold a complicated
layout with multiple trains running and lots of track or it can hold a branch
line or industrial scene with one switcher and 20 cars on site at a time.
That's only 768 feet wide by 2880 feet long in real size so build it with
narrow benchwork and uncompressed scenery and track schematic and it could be
pretty simple to construct....dave
