Dave,
I've seen Dan's B&O "S" scale layout during the NASG Baltimore Convention.  It 
is a perfect layout for the space.  It is not overly complicated yet portrays 
the feel of the B&O as soon as you enter the room.  If I remember correctly Dan 
has a mountain scene with a tunnel, a yard, and a two track mainline.  Most 
model railroaders never get close to what he has already accomplished.  I 
believe Dan was just commenting on how much work he still has to do to complete 
it.  I suspect most of what Dan has accomplished was a solo effort, and that 
Dan's standards are relatively high.
