Monte, May just re-start project now after reading your experience. I am also in transistion, I took down my "O" layout in anticipation of selling home. Bought vacation / retirement Condo with large basement but don't intend to start building new "S" layout in earnest for two years.
I started planning a 2'x12' shelf "S" layout awhile ago, but never got past framework, buying some structures and track. Your experience encourages me to complete it. Dennis H.
