Kits with much more expensive molds than flats have been produced in S for far 
less than $200/unit.  SMMW, Kaslo and BTS have done it.  It seems rather than 
speculating about costs before hand we research and then opine.  

$200 scares me off.  I've purchased kits from Kaslo, BTS and SMMW in the $65 to 
$85 range.  While steep by my stingy standards I've put out because they are 
cars that I wanted on my layout.  They wouldn't be a $200.
