This is true, Bill... but there is nothing wrong with trying to build our models as best as we can. Obviously there has to be some compromise with the layout... otherwise you'd have people out there running up and down real railroad tracks measuring the diameter of each individual piece of ballast! All may be lost on the layout, but it does not have to be on the models...
