HI all - If you are like me, you probably don’t like crawling around under the layout running wire and making joints, not to mention that I have to move and replace everything that is stored under there. Were I starting anew at this age, I would definitely look into battery power. Jack Parker, the owner of Central Valley Model Works, refused to get into DCC because he was sure the battery powered option would eventually overtake DCC. Unfortunately, he did not live long enough to see that happen...
Have fun! Bill Winans -------------------------- If your layout is already fully wired, equipped with Frog Juicers and correctly gaped it probably isn't worth while. OTOH, if you haven't bought and installed the complex part of the wiring yet, going with deliberately dead turnouts and battery power might be a cost and work saving exercise.
