 I don't think so but it can be tested I guess. I think Karl is on
 something,
 I am having a look at scipy's spkg-install to see if there is something
 that should be done there.


 I have an endianess problem with numpy-1.4.1 on linux ppc, funny it works
 on
 ppc OSX: [http://projects.scipy.org/numpy/ticket/1403] and
 [http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=306237] on the other hand
 numpy-1.5.0
 built on my test machine. I am trying to find the changeset that made it
 possible to see if it is worth backporting.
