Comment:
See comment 10 by Dave. g95 can be removed. Unless they forgot about
OSX ppc. For my question, what does
{{{
$SAGE_LOCAL/bin/sage_fortran --version
}}}
says? I am guessing we have gfortran binaries for all platforms.
Dropping g95 means that we can remove some (ugly) patches for numpy/scipy
there are probably other valid reasons to do so but generally speaking
that's less work.
I removed all patches that were applied for g95 in numpy, so if you have
g95 the problems may come from there.
I share your pain about building on ppc (although I dropped OS X sometimes
ago, this is now linux only and gentoo so everything or almost install
from sources. openoffice-3.1 clocks in at 27 hours to build). Did you mean
that numpy failed or restating that scipy failed in your latest comment?
If numpy fails for you as well on OSX ppc we may have a strong motivation
to move to 1.5.0 again.
I am changing this to need_works until we work out what's wrong in your
case.
