Depending on what list you read, Linux on PPC may or may not be supported.
I've tried to get an agreement before on what we do support and what we
don't, but never got anywhere.
I'm personally in favor of keeping Sage building on less regular systems,
as it often indicates problems. The Solaris port has found endless bugs in
Sage - some of which have even according to William been serious.
I have an old IBM RS/6000 7025 F50 (Power PC) which I was setting up AIX
on the other day. I contemlated whether I should put Linux on it too for
testing Sage. But when I read Sage's README.txt, PowerPC was only
supported on OS X, not Linux. So I did not bother. But the machine has
space for 18 disk drives, so I could always add it!!
