I forgot about the networkx change, thanks for the reminder.

- shame because it also fixes linux ppc and alpha.

would want to post to the list about this - more likely wait for 1.5.1?
Or is the fix for this easily backported?

systems, as it often indicates problems. The Solaris port has found
endless bugs in Sage - some of which have even according to William been
serious.

on the other day. I contemlated whether I should put Linux on it too for
testing Sage. But when I read Sage's README.txt, PowerPC was only
supported on OS X, not Linux. So I did not bother. But the machine has
space for 18 disk drives, so I could always add it!!
Why not? I've been trying to figure out how to get a thumb drive to boot
my PPC machine on Ubuntu (and possibly other distros) but it turns out
it's devilishly hard to get that to work, and I haven't had time to do it.
I can't find an easy virtualization option either (neither xen nor
anything else seem to really be particularly easy, if they even still work
with such an old machine...)
> And another thing: If we aren't able to merge numpy and scipy to 4.6. in
time, why don't we provide the packages as optional or experimental?
Because they work on most systems, and it would be a waste to just throw
them away.
Certainly one could do this, but even that would require a positive review
from someone. You might have to ask on the list about this - I've never
heard of having an upgrade to a normal package as only optional.
