Ashley, your fears are unfounded. No officer who does has job well has
anything to fear from the RTI. Sometimes, the RTI can also help to put
systems in place, and send the message that citizens are assertive
about the quality of services on offer.
Please re-read my RTI application below.
The Right to Information Act 2005 (No 22 of 2005) is very clear on how
it works. See http://righttoinformation.gov.in/webactrti.htm
Hi Rico
instead of me replying to you on the net - u need to revisit phadte and
please re-clarify, the entire village knows abt ur RTI by now.
Being the guy that he is, phadte is STILL yesterday inspite of ganesh
working on the phones, he didint have time to file a reply as yet saying
he would do so on monday. bt he is facing a departemental inquiry as to
how he was careless in not maintaining the ac / filling a FIR with the
police / reporting the incident to the fire station and some other thing
which i didint understand - all for which he faces suspension because of
this letter which could be treated as a PIL now.
the SCC along with people in their individual capacity have sent letters
to BSNL to get more staff in saligao but this has gone unheeded. now the
dept tells him that he has not maintained the ac ispute of complaints by
him, tat is is reponsible for so many other things bedies the 18 hr days
he has been putting in the past 10 days or so...
yes feelings have run deep in a alot of people.
