Dear Saligaonkars
I think my letter was read by annette only and am glad that she did and replied. Every one knows that ATM existed in the gulf before it came to Goa. Goa is always lacking behind as we have leaders who are snoring with us. I was using kerosene lamps at home while my cousins had bright tube lights in Bombay and we always envied them and it was only when our beloved Jose Cordeiro was the sarpanch that they tried to influence the government to get electricity to Saligao. We could have a generating system in Saligao but even if we wanted to do we had other people who would stop this project. I remember our dear Hubert D'Souza Fr.Desmond's father way back in 1963 wanted to start small scale industries for the people of saligao but there was not a single person in Saligao who could give him moral support. Today we sit in the clubs and talk about unemployement. we are to be blamed for this. We know only to talk and talk and talk.
