Everybody seems busy .... so far have only noticed Albert making a couple of
postings. Rico how come you are silent too? Are you back in East Africa?
Saw your posting & that of Muriel & Mario on broadband which for obvious
reasons doesnt interest me of course - but good luck to you all!

Anyway Albert, glad to see you are back with your ponderings & comments.
Today most of the then existing cold drinks just dissappeared in thin mist
when mighty pepsi and cola came into goa. If at all these cold drink
companies had to stand up and improved their quality they would not have
died.
Forget the cold drinks, these are not good for us nor our children.
There was a time when people of saligao had to literary fall at the feet of
the gas dealer who first >was in calangute and then a new dealer came to
saligao who made us go to Lawry Saldanha's >garage to ...
Yeh right! ... everything changes with time as it should.
do is demand an ATM facility and avail of the card which can be used to
withdraw the money and also to do purchases for one must know that ATM card
can be used all over India. One need not carry money.
Well, those who did not know about this facility, now know ....& I'm sure
will be using ATM hereafter. Strange! ATM is in existence for ages. But
there's a down side to this, Albert! What with the muggings, vandalism,
murders (as of Fr. Eusebio) perhaps people feel safer getting to the bank,
carrying out their transactions and going about their business ... with
everything hidden with no one the wiser as to whether one is carrying money
or just papers in one's bag. Whereas using ATM - there's a risk, as one
comes away with the money, one can be robbed as that is what is happening
here now... & with modern technology, some have managed to use the ATM
machine after one has left, & cleaned up one's account - happened here twice
before they were caught, very smart people from the Eastern Bloc.
Saliganvkars are just being cautious I guess.
Today people are still using BSNL and are at the mercy of the .......heard
of Reliance and Tata
At least this brought the smile to my face - that is exactly what Fiona & I
did in January but the phone is working fine now. A case of "better the
devil you know than the one you dont"? Have a few friends who switched to
some other equipment & operations ... number started with 5... & they had
problems & are back to the old stuff. Perhaps one has to be as lucky as
Albert!!!

I understand Spring is in the air since the clocks have been put back 1 hour
since 21st - that is what the Saliganvkars in Canada & Uk told me, 21st is
officially first day of Spring & it was Mother's Day in the Gulf. As for
Goa, I heard that it is hot, so one season ahead eh? summer! We here are
enjoying 4 seasons in 2 days.
