(Trying to keep the discussion in one place ...) Yes, I had *not* thought of that check. Let's see if I can explain what I wanted comchk to do. The comment is a list of bugids and ARC cases, each of which has an associated synopsis (or case title). For each bugid, I want to make sure that the synopsis in the comment matches the synopsis for that bugid the bug database has for it. For each ARC case id, I want to make sure that the title in the comment matches the title for that case id the ARC database has for it. I don't think that the RTI tool should be doing these checks, I think it should be done in wx/cdm. Am I being any clearer? Or am I just missing the thrust of your argument? Danek
