[Inkscape-translator] update for Romanian translation
Hello, Please update the Romanian translation with this one here http://www.secarica.ro/traduceri/inkscape_0.47_lang_ro.zip This is merely a spelling, terminology and bugfix revision. I have the explicit consent of the previous translator, PaulS. Short changelog: - changed all Romanian legacy ş and ţ characters with the correct ș and ț characters (possible only in recent years, due to UI font glyphs completion in major Linux distros) - reverted the RGB and CMYK acronyms to the English / international convention - just a few terminology unification with GIMP (in fact, there were some more in the other sense, i.e. Inkscape -> GIMP) - just a few terminology bugfixes - just two percents in translation advance Right now I do not intend to maintain the inkscape Romanian translation, mainly because I am the maintainer of the one for GIMP and there is still a lot to do there. However, from time to time, if there will be no significant progress here, I will probably do some further steps in advancing with the Inkscape Romanian translation. Note for potential translators: feel free to join, discuss and ask any question on the list for people interested in Romanian localization of free software, located at http://groups.google.com/group/diacritice The Romanian Inkscape translation is also available in a collaborative form at http://tradu.softwareliber.ro site; although that place is useful for those wanting to contribute only on occasions, as far as I know the online tool (still) has a few limitations, like the fact that the user comments are not displayed and/or are wipped out from an existing .po file. (I myself have translated the .po file offline, with Poedit) Thank you, Cristi -- Cristian Secară http://www.secarica.ro/ -- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Verizon Developer Community Take advantage of Verizon's best-in-class app development support A streamlined, 14 day to market process makes app distribution fast and easy Join now and get one step closer to millions of Verizon customers http://p.sf.net/sfu/verizon-dev2dev ___ Inkscape-translator mailing list Inkscape-translator@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/inkscape-translator
[Inkscape-translator] product name variable in nsis installer language file
In the NSIS lnaguage files most strings are using the ${PRODUCT_NAME} variable for the installed product name, except for three places where "Inkscape" is mentioned explicitly (line 32, 41 and 44 if speaking about english.nsh file). Is this an intended behaviour, or is a mistake ? The other translations should follow exactly the same syntax regarding the "Inkscape" name occurrence ? [Inkscape-translator] adding the Romanian NSIS installer
Hello, Please add the NSIS installer translation for Romanian from here: http://www.secarica.ro/traduceri/inkscape_0.47_installer_romanian.zip and also add the corresponding line to the main NSIS script, which should be !include Romanian.nsh Additionally, the default template for Romanian can be added too: http://www.secarica.ro/inkscape_0.47_default_template_romanian.zip which is modified as per Inkscape wiki for translators instructions. Regarding the template modification, my question is -- what changes from the practical perspective ? I mean, where can I observe any change when using Inkscape ? From my language point of view the changes are minimal, like the page is now specified in millimeter and the label "Layer 1" is translated. What property in the Inkscape UI display this ? Hmm. It seems I miss something here. So: I'm on Windows. I put the localized default.ro.svg file here C:\Program Files\Inkscape\share\templates\ along with the others. The line with the layer label is this which in Romanian is like this in French like this and in German like this My system is set to Romanian (everything, including OS UI strings) When I start Inkscape normally, the Inkscape UI is in Romanian (of course only those strings that are already translated). However, the label in that dropdown menu at bottom displays "Layer 1" (i.e. in English, not in Romanian). If I start Inkscape with set lang=fr, the UI goes French, *including* the layer label. If I start Inkscape with set lang=de, the UI goes German, *including* the layer label. What is different for my language ? (what is missing ?) [Inkscape-translator] cannot find some strings for translation
There are some strings I want to translate but I don't know where to find them. The strings from http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~inkscape.dev/inkscape/trunk/files/head:/po/ are very different than the stable 0.48.4 ? I tried also with a development version, "inkscape R10800" from oss-marketplace, but there was no difference. Example: - when opening Inkscape, I cannot find the the string from status bar "No objects selected. Click, Shift+click, or drag around objects to select." - when opening a .png file, a dialog will prompt for embedding or link to the file; the strings "embed" and "link" appears to be missing from my .po On the other hand, in bitmap export dialog there is "Bitmap size" which *is* translated in .po file (Export area = Zona de exportat) but appears in English, "Batch export all selected objects" is translated but with _ accelerator on B_atch, "Hide all except selected" also appears in English while in .po file is with accelerator on a_ll, Filename don't know where to find in .po (but it also appears it has an useless accelerator on F). ?? [Inkscape-translator] where can I find most Star (and perhaps Polygon) parameter strings ?
Under the /ui/toolbar/star-toolbar-cpp there are several strings that I don't know where they appear. The visible toolbar has only a few items, while the translation appears to have much more related strings. Example: (probably related to Number of corners of a polygon or star) thin-ray star pentagram hexagram heptagram octagram regular polygon (probably related to Base radius to tip radius ratio) stretched twisted slightly pinched NOT rounded slightly rounded visibly rounded well rounded amply rounded blown up (probably related to Randomized:) slightly irregular visibly randomized strongly randomized There are also some stings that only shows up when making the Inkscape window very small horizontally and so the right end of the toolbar becomes a sort of drop-down menu. Example on text tool -- on the most right there is an icon for LTR/RTL writing direction, which changes to "Text direction" label in drop-down mode. Perhaps there is a way to hide icons, but I don't know how. Or perhaps a way to detach the toolbar (?).
