was not a Robin is all I can say. Is the night migration that I here birders
talk about? I intend to be more observant tomorrow morning.

Friends who camped out at Crow last week were told by someone from the Forrest
Service that the squirrels were eating the birds and that they were trying to
control it.
Maybe that accounts for a lack of birds. However it seems the birds would come
in anyway.

I put up a hummingbird feeder with sugar water and the Oriole pair comes to
drink throughout the day. The window is open near the feeder and their chatter
tells me when they are feeding.
He is gorgeous.

of us hungry birders. It is clean, nicely redecorated, reasonably priced and
the hamburgers were good and thick. It is open from 11:00 to 2:00 PM Monday
thru Saturdays.

Got to Grandview Cemetery about 11:30AM today. Within about a half + hour I saw
the female White-winged Crossbill in a conifer in E section. Good look with my

Just at dusk tonight in with the White-crowned Sparrows a beautiful Fox Sparrow
appeared. Very red wings, tail and red streaks on breast. Hope its there in the
morning. Also had a White-throated Sparrow. The weather is changing.

I for one do not. I lile knowing there are so many out there and where.
I had a Rock Wren in the yard today and continued bathing of Wilson's Warblers

I have been watching a bird in the circle of our drive in the trees over the
misting device. Surely looks like a Philadelphia. People are welcome to come

Friday I had the first hummingbird of the season at my flowerbed. Saw it
yesterday and this morning. I think it is a female Calliope, but am not that
good at females and young male ID. Anyway a joy to watch. Friday it was very

Most birds were more secretive except for the Ruby-crowned Kinglet that took
his bath about 10 feet from me and flashed his red crown all the time. Then he
sang throughout the yard for a few hours.

The wind at 7:00 AM made me think it might be a good day to sleep in, but then
I looked out the back window. Little birds were flying every in the wind and
into the pear trees.

Besides the 10 or so regulars that chip, squak and fly around noisely

Today was super down there. Teals seemed have just landed especially the
Cinnamon, Blue-winged. Hundreds of Yellow-headed Blackbirds in a field east of
Keensburg road. Many White-faced Ibis around 200, many Swainson's Hawks,
black-necked sti
top of tree. On
O street three swans flew over. Swainson's Hawks, and Red-tailed Hawks, Great
Blue Herons, Pelicans all flying to their roost for the night as the sun
slipped down in the west. Owl active too.
