Since a squeezebox can tune into a Shoutcast stream, you could always do
something like the following:
CD --> WinAmp --> Shoutcast Server --> Squeezebox
I've done something similar when I experimented with using amaroK to be
my interface for selecting music to play on the Squeezebox. The

Here's what I think happend: for whatever reason my music directory is
associated to my user account on my computer which

UI of our Slimp3's, that it's nice to be able to mimic this on the pc

Next, one tip. I found that when running a certain program, myhtpc,
and trying to start softsqueeze, that it didn't get focus properly.
The fix was

its hard disk except music. And to stream to the SB you need to run
slimserver.

whatever you like seems to be well documented, whether by RSS or
otherwise, but the device is not really optimized for such an

Found out how to start the server as a normal program, so I could get a
full logfile. This logfile showed me that the album in question was
scanned twice. First scan came from a Playlist, and the second scan
came from the physical folder.
For some reason this made some of the songs show up twice

If they do attack this I would strongly recommend they try to have some
way of storing the ssh private key in the SB. Maybe in a firmware load
or something.
However seeing as how little this feature would be used, I would not

We're having a hard time reproducing this bug reported by not only
message board users, but by users calling Kevin on the phone for
support as well. We'd really like to release a new firmware version,

Yup email is sent! Did mention that one problem was in a streaming
application but also said that the Windows networking file transfer was
not working and did highlight the apparent 200Mb "limit".

Sounds like the e-mail has already been sent, but if it hasn't, indicate
the problem is transferring more than ~200 MB of files. If you indicate
the problem is with streaming, they'll likely point the finger at Slim

Thanks to all who've weighed in on this thread. I have adopted the turn
Slimserver off/manage iTunes/turn Slimserver on approach. I still see
the occasional runaway case, but restarting the service seems to clear that.

upgrade the firmware to v35. You can go for 6.2.2, which is a

and connections were hit-and-miss at best (and no WPA security).
