A leak down test is better but if you don't have the leak down tester and a
air compressor a basic compression test is a start. You can also pressurize
the coolant system and see if you get a drop in

As long as the compression amongst all the cylinders is within a couple of
percent you should be fine. If you see one cylinder that is significantly
different redo the test and proceed with furthur diagnosis. Also you may
want to do a wet and dry test.

is also know to degrade, fortunately my ETA's were fine. Replacing the
evaporator and rear accumulators are the least of your worries.
Are you watching the 1992 white one with the fogs in the bumper? That one
has late model

Read the same post, spent the morning looking at the exploded parts diagram
in the EPC looking for the spring he was talking about. This would be sweet
on our V12 now that BergWerks is gone and if the dealer can do it for $150
it just may be well worth it.

Dave's right. And on top of the motor, plan on changing many harness's and
the evapoator. Count yourself lucky it doesn't have ASR. The rear
accumulators are a breeze compared to an 'E' class.
