[AI] Eyeway Conversations with Anand Kulkarni: A film maker who is blind

2021-10-26 Thread George Abraham

Eyeway Conversations with Visually Impaired Filmmaker Anand Kulkarni

In this episode of Eyeway Conversations, George Abraham speaks with Anand
Kulkarni, the first and only visually impaired filmmaker in Asia. At the age
of seven, Anand was diagnosed with Macular Dystrophy which led to a gradual
sight loss. But he managed to study with assistive technology and a great
deal of support from his family. When Anand applied for a Bachelors in Mass
Media, he was rejected by most top colleges in Mumbai.

But life had visual storytelling in store for him, and he began his journey
at KC College. He calls his 36 projects in college as his 36 failures but
the best lessons in life. He was enamored by the idea of creating something
out of nothing and he relied on his ability to hear everything minutely, or
as he calls it, 'shameless eavesdropping'!

With over 100 Digital works to his credit across Fashion, Luxury, Music,
Liquor, Home Decor, Life Style, Healthcare and Sustainability, Anand is an
award winning Director preferred by leading agencies and brands.

Tune in to listen to how a blind man ended up in a visually driven industry
of filmmaking.

Yes, it's factual.
wile complaining to Banking ombudsman, this sadly happens.

So now we have another problem-1 with the IT site and 2 with the CCPD
procedure. How are we going to deal with these problems I wonder.
Today I wanted to file a complaint with the Banking ombudsman against my
Bank Union Bank of India. The link on the RBI site was not working.
So now I have to deal with 2 problems-my original and the other created by
RBI.

I wonder how many battles have to be won before we win the war.
This is all reminding me of 2008 when we were dealing with the Banks.

Exactly the same thoughts crossed my mind. The process has become
bureaucratic and less friendly. Just my personal views.

If one goes by the forwarded template, now it seems the CCPD office has
become more bureaucratic.
The requirement of this much details coupled with documents will render
ordinary aggrieved disabled people sufferers perpetually.
Earlier, one could shoot mail to CCPD office detailing grievances and it was
acknowledge without much delay. Anyway, in absence of fulltime commissioner
for ages, the grievance redressal mechanism remains in shambles. Hope ground
realities get better in the days to come.

Note: These are my personal views shared in public interest.
Cheers!

In my opinion Pg portal lost its credibility
Nowadays. ( in any kind of dispute) .

No proper justice or solution to be awarded
Either Docket will be closed with remarks forwarded to concern authority
for further n/a. Or such type of diplomatic reply with out solving actual
demand or solution.

So better write in paper and sent to STATE commission first through speed
post then after may approached to CCPD if solution not upto the mark.

Kind regards

I won't say more as Vivek covered it, but why such mails on this platform is
beyond my understanding too. and people are using this list to promote such

Friends, My previous mail could not be typed properly because of some
disturbance in my Office, actually I wanted to say the person who does
not know any rule or law how can apply for grevences in CCPD, and many
of us we disabled persons do not know the rule and law properly, many
disabled persons in Idnia do not know to operate computer also, before
I had applied a grevence in CCPD just typed in a white paper and had
enclosed my disability certificate and had sent by speed post and they
had accepted but now CCPD is going far from disabled persons rights.

2021-10-26 Thread turab chimthanawala
Hello Pranav,
Thanks. Yes reparing/ reinstalling JAWS has not worked. Basis past
experiences I have not got any redressal through
supp...@freedomscientific.com. And the customer service number has not
helped either. Any other way to contact?
Also, interestingly when JAWS does not start, even NVDA also does not
get activated.
Any computer issue?

Friends, the person who is aware of rules and regulation of Indian Law
Disabled person like me who does not know any law applying any
grievences will suffer, before I had applied one grevence in CCPD just
I had applied on a white paper and had enclosed my disability
certificate and they had considered, but now CCPD is becoming very
complicated and becoming far for common disabled persons.

Dear Amiyo daa-this undertaking is restricted to complainant only and is sought
in every judicial proceeding irrespective of which court it is filed in.

This is just to ensure that the same complainant does not file the same matter

Re: [AI] Seeking support for justice

2021-10-26 Thread Mohib Anwar Rafay
I never heard about the age bar for the scribe, its totally
discriminatory. Once i was also denied to appear in UP public service
examination, the stupid reason was given that only 100% blind persons
are allowed to bring the scribe, since my disability was 70%, i was
denied, I filed the case against them in Allahabad High Court. Court
observed, UP public service commission was wrong denying me to appear
in the examination, as they interpreted the word "blind" who the
person who can not see at all. , and they were fined a nominal amount
of 5,000 rupees. But i was not given any chance to reappear in the
examination as they said, it was not possible for them to conduct the
examination for one candidate alone.
Here in the case of Mr. Gaurav, he should refer the scribe guidelines
issued by UP PSC, if it has been provided there the scribe being below
to 15 years of age, these scribe guidelines can be challanged. State
commissioner for persons with disabilities may be approached, else
reaching the high court will be an expensive and time taking affair.

Re: [AI] FW: Inaccessibility of the new Income tax e-filing portal

2021-10-26 Thread Amiyo Biswas
It seems, things are going to be more difficult in future. Just say for
instance, clause (g) of rule 38(1) says, "An undertaking that the matter is
not sub-judice in any other court of law within the territory of India."

Who knows if somebody else has filed a suit in any court in some other part
of the country. The complainant can only ascertain that he or she has not
done it anywhere else. It may prove a restrictive measure. Previously, some
of my friends appealed to CCPD and almost in every case they got a much
better response. Recently it has slowed down a bit. But that may be due to
pressure of applications.

With best regards,

So now we have another problem-1 with the IT site and 2 with the CCPD
procedure. How are we going to deal with these problems I wonder.
Today I wanted to file a complaint with the Banking ombudsman against my
Bank Union Bank of India. The link on the RBI site was not working.
So now I have to deal with 2 problems-my original and the other created by
RBI.

I wonder how many battles have to be won before we win the war.
This is all reminding me of 2008 when we were dealing with the Banks.

RE: [AI] FW: Inaccessibility of the new Income tax e-filing portal

2021-10-26 Thread Kanchan Pamnani
So now we have another problem-1 with the IT site and 2 with the CCPD
procedure. How are we going to deal with these problems I wonder.
Today I wanted to file a complaint with the Banking ombudsman against my Bank
Union Bank of India. The link on the RBI site was not working.
So now I have to deal with 2 problems-my original and the other created by RBI.
I wonder how many battles have to be won before we win the war.
This is all reminding me of 2008 when we were dealing with the Banks.

Hello,

In my opinion this is a clear cut case of discrimination solely on the
basis of disability. It is also clear that the authorities at the exam
centre were not at all willing to allow Mr Gaurav. In such situation
grievance along with all details including the disability certificate
be filed through the online portal of CPGRAMSCentralized Public
Grievance Redress And Monitoring System. The link of the same is
provided over here for ready reference.

If one goes by the forwarded template, now it seems the CCPD office has become
more bureaucratic.
The requirement of this much details coupled with documents will render
ordinary aggrieved disabled people sufferers perpetually.
Earlier, one could shoot mail to CCPD office detailing grievances and it was

ages, the grievance redressal mechanism remains in shambles. Hope ground

2021-10-26 Thread Amar Jain
Hi Rahul-You can use this template. Just add a paragraph on disability
certificate in accordance with the relevant sub-clause of Rule 38.

To my knowledge, there is no format of the complaint-so long as we
mention particulars prescribed in Rule 38.

This template was primarily intended to cover private establishments, so
if you are going against government, then add sections like 42, or if
against public service providers, then add stuff like definition of
public facilities and services, right of legal capacity (specially
sub-section one dealing with right to control financial affairs
independently) and so on.

Amar Jain

 Hi all,
I use Windows 10, JAWS 2021. Though I have chosen the option for JAWS
to start automatically, on some occasions, it does not speak at all.
This happens both on Starting as well as logging in from Sleep mode. On
 checking
through sighted assistance, my microphone is not muted.
Only option left is to restart the system and keep doing till I hear
 JAWS

 speak.

Re: [AI] JAWS not speaking on starting system

2021-10-26 Thread B. R. Nautiyal
Then, reinstallation or Repair of Jaws is the only option with you. Instead
of repairing of Jaws, you should have download the Public Data 3 of Jaws 22
with the link given below.

https://jaws2022.vfo.digital/2022.2110.30.400/24BE4959-5A50-4652-A4D9-48EDF3273733/J2022.2110.30.400-any.exe
At first, remove the previous version, & restart your computer in case of
fresh installation of Jaws. You can contact me over my mobile, if you face
any technical issue while installing the Jaws.

Thanks both of you.
1. I do have a shortcut and try through that as well. However, I can
notice the JAWS dialogue box appearing but can't hear anything.
2. I have Windows 10 8GB RAM 1TB Hard disk.

Hi all,
I use Windows 10, JAWS 2021.
JAWS

speak.
