 Subject: [AI] About Talks License.

 Hello,

Talks on my E5 handset is not accepting the valid license code. It happened
after a restart of the mobile. I have done everything since then. I have
formatted the phone, too, but to no use. I have also tried the license in
uppercase and lowercase, with and without dashes after every 4 characters. It
is always saying invalid serial number. I got it from saksham in April two
years back. Please help. Maybe Saksham people will help, but I am in a hurry.

 With best regards,

Marking on notes is very necessary but it is not necessary that the
  marking
should be a braille numaric codes. We can have a single dot for rs 10, 2

1000. and the vide publicity can be given for these markings through mass

Hi, from this reply, it seems that, some of our learned members could not been
able to understand the points. I did not discuss regarding the topic. I wanted
to point out regarding the notion of some of our members, who posts bulk of
mails and replies without any relevance very often. It is our duty to make the
list more meaningful or more useful. We have, in our busy life don't want to
see the mails which contains the matters like unwanted and vogus criticism
individual grudges or posting false mails blaming other members. Some of our
members post bulk mails which also prevent our interest to open the list and
read important mails also. It sometimes did not help us to find the valuable
suggestions from our members.Due to these acts some important topics are also
missed out.Off topic mails also decrease our interest regarding this list. I
don't want to tell of policing, but in democratic way we can vote to improve
the quality of list. If we do so, we can make this list more relevant and

[AI] How to get hassel free personal lone?

2013-04-12 Thread amarnath de
Hi friends, Hope, you all are doing well. Friends, I would like to know
regarding how to get personal lone in market interest without any harassment?
Very often we need very small amount like 5 or 1.0 or 2.0 to meet
our various important requirements. The nationalised banks often demands that,
the borrower should submit a declaration from his/her employer that he should
recover the balance amount of lone if he/she fails to repay it. But, the
employer did not give this declaration in favour of its employee. In case of
private banks like ICICI bank, city bank or HDFC bank, they check various
points like sibil credit score or other points, some of these are unknown to
us. The private banks always give a condition that, lones are self discretion
of the bank. I had applied for a personal lone last year from ICICI bank. My
salry is deposited in this bank. But for unknown reasons the application has
been rejected. I have tried to know the cause of rejection but I could not been
able to know what is my fault. In recent past, I did not borrow any personal
lone from any bank. This is a problem of concern for the small earning persons
like me. If anyone help me I will be highly benefitted. Sometimes, I experience
that, some banks did not give us lone because of our blindness, but they deny
the fact in writing. I think so because, when I say that, I am a blind person,

 Hi

On the local suburban trains, there is a coach for the disabled.
On the platform there is a visual indicator showing where this coach comes.
In many stations there is also an audio beeper. At one of the station there
is a tactile marking too on the platform.

  hello accessindia!

my another experience regarding handicap coach here. on 27-05-2012 i was
travelling from bilaspur to durg in handicap coach on train no.12855.
there were 5-6 more blind passengers travelling in the coach. suddenly, 10
to 12 female passengers were entered in the coach and trying to occupy our
space and were arguing that nobody can get us down as we are lady
passengers. finally I decided to vacate the coach and sent message to rail
complaint to vacate the handicap coach. at next station force came, but
they didn't have lady personnel with them, hence the coach can't be
vacated on that station. but, on the next station, the force came with the
lady police and the coach was vacated.

  thanks,

Re: [AI] help neded to getting the a t m card from state bank of india

2012-05-03 Thread amarnath de

Hi, State banks employees and other banks employees of govt. sector must be
trained regarding the facilities which are available for visually impaired
persons. Recently I have applied for new pin from SBI, but they are telling me
that, they need an witness to deliver the same to me. He/she must be an account
holder of the same branch. My question is, when I have already declared that,
they have no liability then why an witness is needed? If concerned friends
can run awareness drives, it will definitely help the blind consumers as well
as bank employees of various Indian banks. Regards. Yours sincerely,Amarnath De.

Re: [AI] regarding banking facility

2011-08-09 Thread amarnath de
First of all, you should make clear in which bank you are holding the
account. If you state this clear you can get more accurate suggestion.

If you are facing severe difficulties you can lodge a complain against that
particular bank.

But you should write at least three communication to your particular bank
before making complain to RBI.

Hope, you have got it.

Regards.

Hi Mr. dey,
After you have acquired your user id and mpin you need to change your mpin
as directed in the referred e-mail. Then, you can go to the ATM centre if
you have ATM card with you and do mobile banking registration in the ATM.
else, you can register in your branch also.

today is the 150th birth anniversary of rabindhranath tagore

Greatest writer in modern Indian literature, Bengali poet, novelist,
educator, who won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1913. Tagore was
awarded

the knighthood in 1915, but he surrendered it in 1919 as a protest against
the Massacre of Amritsar, where British troops killed some 400 Indian
demonstrators protesting colonial laws. Tagore's reputation in the West as
a

mystic has perhaps mislead his Western readers to ignore his role as a
reformer and critic of colonialism.

When one knows thee, then alien there is none, then no door is shut. Oh,
grant me my prayer that I may never lose touch of the one in the play of
the

many. (from Gitanjali)

Rabindranath Tagore was born in Calcutta in a wealthy and prominent
Brahman

family. His father was Maharishi Debendranath Tagore, a religious reformer
and scholar. His mother Sarada Devi, died when he was very young - her
body
carried through a gate to a place where it was burned and it was the
moment

when he realized that she will never come back. Tagore's grandfather had
established a huge financial empire for himself, and financed public
projects, such as Calcutta Medical College. The Tagores were pioneers of
Bengal Renaissance and tried to combine traditional Indian culture with
and

Western ideas. However, in My Reminiscenes Tagore mentions that it was not
until the age of ten when he started to use socks and shoes. Servants beat
the children regularly. All the children contributed significantly to
Bengali literature and culture. Tagore, the youngest, started to compose
poems at the age of eight. He received his early education first from
tutors

and then at a variety of schools. Among them were Bengal Academy where he
studied Bengali history and culture, and University College, London, where
he studied law but left after a year without completing his studies.
Tagore

did not like the weather. Once he gave a beggar a gold coin - it was more
than the beggar had expected and he returned it. In England Tagore started
to compose the poem Bhagna Hridaj (a broken heart).

In 1883 Tagore married Mrinalini Devi Raichaudhuri, with whom he had two
sons and three daughters. He moved to East Bengal in 1890. His first book,
a

collection of poems, appeared when he was 17; it was published by Tagore's
friend who wanted to surprise him. In East Bengal (now Bangladesh) he
collected local legends and folklore and wrote seven volumes of poetry
between 1893 and 1900, including Sonar Tari (The Golden Boat), 1894 and
Khanika, 1900. This was highly productive period in Tagore's life, and
earned him the rather misleading epitaph 'The Bengali Shelley.' More
important was that Tagore wrote in the common language of the people and
abandoned the ancient for of the Indian language. This also was something
that was hard to accept among his critics and scholars.

In 1901 Tagore founded a school outside Calcutta, Visva-Bharati, which was
dedicated to emerging Western and Indian philosophy and education. It
became

a University in 1921. He produced poems, novels, stories, a history of
India, textbooks, and treatises on pedagogy. His wife died in 1902,
followed

in 1903 by the death of one of his daughters and in 1907 his younger son.

Tagore's reputation as a writer was established in the United States and
in
England after the publication of Gitanjali: Song Offerings, in which
Tagore

tried to find inner calm and explored the themes of divine and human love.
The poems were translated into English by Tagore himself. His cosmic
visions

owed much to the lyric tradition of Vaishnava Hinduism and its concepts
about the relationship between man and God. The poems appeared in 1912
with
an introduction by William Butler Yates, who wrote These lyrics - which
are

in the original, my Indians tell me, full of subtlety of rhythm, of
untranslatable delicacies of colour, of metrical invention - display in
their thought a world I have dreamed of all my life long. His poems were
praised by Ezra Pound, and drew the attention of the Nobel Prize
committee.
There is in him the stillness of nature. The poems do not seem to have
been

produced by storm or by ignition, but seem to show the normal habit of his
mind. He is at one with nature, and finds no contradictions. And this is
in
sharp contrast with the Western mode, where man must be shown attempting
to

master nature if we are to have great drama. (Ezra Pound in Fortnightly
Review, 1 March 1913) However, Tagore also experimented with poetic forms
and these works have lost much in translations

[AI] difficulty in filing KYC for mutual funds

2011-06-17 Thread amarnath de
Hi all,

hope, you all are doing well.

I am facing a peculiar problem. Can you help me?

I am trying to subscribe HDFC top 200 mutual fund from February this year. As
you are aware KYC is mandatory from 1st January, this year. Though I have
submitted KYC application with my application form, first time the KYC request
has been rejected due to non-attestation of my LTI's. Then I resend the form
with attestation. Second time this form has been rejected because I did not
furnished medical certificate. Third time the application has been rejected due
to unknown reason.

I and my bank ICICI bank tried to locate the application but could not been
able to track it.

I could not understand that, why I am being refused again and again because of
my blindness.

If you have any idea about from where I can get justice and where to complain?
Did SEBI have the complain mechanism?

Friends, if you can help, I will be highly obliged.

Regards.

Yours sincerely,
Amarnath.

Re: [AI] About Internet on C5.

2011-04-21 Thread amarnath de

Hi,

You cannot substitute broad band with GPRS.

1. If you take a plan rather than paying normal GPRS it cost less.

2. There is a difference of speed between 2G and 3G. 3G has more speed
rather than 2G.

3. These plans, I think, cannot replace broadband. It is portable and you
can use internet anywhere you like if you use internet through mobile. The
speed of broad band is more faster than GPRS. And it is cost effective also.
Moreover, if you use internet through mobile the battery life of the mobile
decreases.

Hope, this answer can resolve some of your doubts.

Regards.

Yours sincerely,
Amarnath.

Subject: [AI] About Internet on C5.

Hello,

I have activated gprs from bsnl on my nokia c5. It costs 2 paise per 10
kb. Bsnl has a 3g scheme of Rs.98 for 2 gb limit in one month. It has also
a 2g scheme of Rs.100 for 256 mb in one month.

I have several questions to ask. First, how far will it be useful if I
take 3g or 2g plan instead of gprs?

Second, what is the real difference between 2g and 3g? I read about it
online, but did not understand much of the technical jargon. I have just
paid annual fee for my broadband. I don't want to sign off before this
year is complete.

Third, how can I use nokia email and other features on C5? I understand
from the threads that many things are still inaccessible on C5. Right now,
I am quite satisfied with calls and sms messages. I can't yet manage the
maps successfully. I don't move about much, just home, office and two or
three places, which I know very well.

Sorry for too many questions. Just explain and help.

Best regards,

I also endorse the opinion of launching a Mobile Phone with basic
features for VI's, but it would have been more fruitful if they had
launched the Mobile with full voice based functions for us people.
This Intex Mobile seems to be more or like several other Spice phones
which have been
already ostracized by visually impaired users.
It is good that Mr. Jha of Intex has shown the interest to sale their
products in association with NAB and other organizations but again,
Intex and any other company officials, who are willing to manufacture
Mobile for VI's, are advised to first liaise with our organizations
in order to know the technical and other requirement of a VI user and
then produce the final product.
I appreciate their innitiative, but in my personal opinion, this
Mobile Set is not going to be of that mutch of use of visually
impaired users.
We can suggest these manufacturing companies for the near future so
they can probably improve the accessability of the device in terms of
voice and so on.

Hi all,
While I appreciate there is some thought towards accessibility for
visually
impaired, but it would have been nice, if they would thought little
further
to see these phones are accessible to people who are not very education
and

may not like all featured phones. Frankly speaking, I think, those who
prefer to use a phone with English speech, at least, most of them prefer
to

use some sort of web browsing, GPS, music etc. Since off late, even data
charges are slowly coming down, perhaps, most people love to use them.

I think, while any company do think of assistive technology /
accessibility,
they should think, beyond VI and something that helps VIs to use in teh
same

way like anyone else and no special.

Just my personal thoughts.

Re: [AI] How to map more accounts in SBI net banking - Harshit

2011-04-05 Thread amarnath de

Hi,

You have to add accounts for fund transfer page. for this you have to
register accounts by giving the details such as name of the account holder,
account number (if state bank account you need not to tell the branch), if
other bank then you have to give the details of the bank, name of the
branch, IFSC code etcetera. then you have to approve the account. A high
security password is sent to your registered mobile phone. Keep in mind
that, you have to register your mobile number first. For this, you have to
go to profile page and give your data. then, a form will be generated and
you have to submit this form to your branch for approval. Within 16 hours
registered account will be activated.

Hope, you have got it. rest you will understand when you will explore this
feature.

Regards.

Yours sincerely,
Amarnath De.

Well when you create account on popular services like gmail, yahoo,

If you are interested in auto captcha solvers, then for IE solona is your

For firefox, webvisum is the answer. I recommend using firefox for captcha

Well, are you talking about resetting profile password?
As far as calendar issue is concerned, look there below the read only edit
box, the graphical image link is given. If you press enter on it, you will
be taken to a new opened window. There, select your date of birth and you
are good to go. If you could tell me that how and where are you going
exactly, I can tell in more detail.

If UID cannot serve our purpose then what is the need of it? The government
is misusing our income and giving our earned money to its agency and
generating income for some persons for meaningless purpose. It is making the
system more complex rather than simplifying.

It is unnecessarily putting burden to us.

Hope, government may use the database to make our life simple as suggested.

Please understand that UIDAI is not issuing card rather it is just

letter which contains number. However bottom portion of the letter can be
torn and stored for remembering the numbers. State government is free to
issue card that is if it serve their purpose.
Please also understand that UIDAI is not superceeding ministery and it has
to work with existing ministry hence it is not collecting data on cast/

Dear Harish,

Sadly that is not so. Its not only for the disabled but of the disabled
also wanting this. The degree of social acceptance of different
disabilities
is different and this is a harsh truth. While those with visual
impairments

may be keen in getting their disability included on UID but those with few
other disabilities have not been comfortable in declaring the same on the
face of it for the fear of discrimination and other obvious reasons.

Another reason that I see is that not all disabilities enumerated in the
PWD

Act have got benefited from being declared as a Person with disability
except few. Thus for them, including it on the UID carries no benefit. On
the contrary, they fear this might lead to discrimination.

May be UID representatives/Mr. Asif could answer the specific reason as to
why this was dropped and what can be done to salvage it at least for
those

who are willing and want to include this.

Rajesh, a large number of persons with disabilities do not want their
disability on their UID Cards. They want to be known by their name and
number and not by their disability. Argument - when you don't write
conditions such as Heart Problems, Knee Problems etc or
Castes/categories such as SC/ST, then why disability which is just a
 condition that persons live with.

This debate perhaps has led to UID dropping disability from the face of
the
 card.

Another issue - UID's legal mandate doesn't require it to be a
 replacing

document for various other certificates such as a disability

certificate.

This also has a politics of maintaining relevance of certain
departments/ministries that have a stake in the disability. And they do
not
want to let go their importance. Since, if every important information
comes
on UID then they fear it might render them redundant such as a PAN Card
(Separate Ministry), Ration Card (Separate Ministry), (Disability
 Certificate (Min. of Health) etc..

net banking for visually challenge and could not been able to access the

I talked with the head of net banking Mr. Agam Prakash Sharma, but my

I have lodged a complain in their happy room but I experienced that, even
they are not aware that, the visually challenged persons have such facility
in the bank. they also told me that, the facility is in experimental stage.
When I categorically told that, such facility is in existence, they assured

Hi all,

Hope, you are doing well. Now I would like to draw your kind attention
regarding a problem of the persons like me who use LTI to avoid mismatch
of signatures.

In the banks though the problem has to some extent solved instead of a
few instances, but when we use LTI in our demat accounts of for
purchasing of mutual funds/bonds the banks demands attestations of LTI's
through notaries. No other authorities are valid to attest the LTI
including gazzeted officers.

In my view it is an unnecessary harassment and unnecessary wastage of
money. Because in Delhi the notaries charge RS. 20-50 per attestation.
And in forms of mutual funds/bonds there is more than 4-5 signatures. So
it costs 100-250 rupees to complete a form. If we go to make some
correction like address, spelling of names or email etcetera then also
they demands attestation by banks.

The bank says the rules has been formed by sebi and they have nothing to
do.

Now my question is: why the attestation by the gazzeted officers are not
valid? Is it not encourages the unfair trade practice by the notaries? is
there no option? I think when a person has been introduced by the bank,
there is no need of such troublesome process. And I would request my
friends to take the matter with the SEBI.

Can you help us to take the matter with sebi and try to find out any
permanent and acceptable solution?

Regards.

Yours sincerely,
Amarnath De.

Re: [AI] problem in my SBI account

2010-10-23 Thread amarnath de

Hi friends,

In my view verification of LTI have been introduced because, the banks did
not have proper biometric systems. As I know, the LTI is taken in front of
bank official and they verify it. When the person is present physically and
got verified his LTI then what is the need of biometric system? If the
biometric system is introduced then there will be no need of verification.

What do you think?

Hi Jairam others,
What we have learnt from interacting with a couple of bank managers, is
that bank branches as of now do not have the capability to verify thumb
impression, manually or using the biometric technology. After seeing the
RBI June 2008 circular and the IBA November 2008 circulars, they said the
circular has been issued without putting in place the capacity to do it.

Would appreciate comments from the related experts.

Hello

Signature or thumb impression has nothing to do with clearing.
In the clearing house, only cheques are sorted bank/branch wise and
sent to the respective banks using the magnetic ink character
recognission M I C R codes in the cheque.
It is only at the branch of the drawer, that is the person who has
drawn the cheque, that the signature and other details are verified
and the cheque is passed or suitably returned to the clearing house in
case of difference in signature, insufficient funds, etc.
So if the specimen signature/LTI is available at the branch, it should
be enough.

Dear Amarnath Sir,
As far as I can understand, no internal circular of any bank can
overrule RBI’s circular.
And if they are referring any such circular denying VIs general
banking facility, you must demand the copy of that particular circular
along with the written note of branch manager justifying his instant
decision. Further it can be challenged at various levels.

Scanning of thumb impression is not a big issue as they pretending to.
And I agree as somebody has mentioned that its not possible for
everybody to learn signing immediately.

Here I am pasting the internal circular of Allahabad Bank, which
explicitly mentions that no VI person can be excluded of availing any
sort of banking facility which is offered to a physically fit person.
Hope this might be of some help of you.

Banking Facilities to the Visually Impaired Persons
In compliance with the directives from the Court of Chief Commissioner
of Persons with Disabilities
and at the instance of Ministry of Finance, Govt. of India and Reserve
Bank of India, the Indian
Banks’ Association (IBA) has framed procedural guidelines, as detailed
hereinafter, for the member
banks for providing banking facilities to visually impaired persons.
It has been decided by the Bank to implement the procedural
guidelines, as aforesaid, for providing
banking facilities to visually impaired persons in respect of the
banking services offered by the Bank.
Procedural Guidelines for Providing

1.0 General Instructions

by all branches of banks.
ii) Banks should not equate visually impaired customers with
illiterate customers.
iii) All banks must provide the same facilities to a visually impaired
customer/ prospective
customer as it would do so for any other customer. But at the same
time, the customers
should be made aware of the risk associated with some of the
facilities, which may be
higher than that for a normal customer.
iv) Additional facilities like reading and filling up forms, slips,
cheques should be provided to a
visually impaired customer, if required.
v) Banks should not deny any services to visually impaired customers
including those who
use their thumb impression for operating the bank account.
vi) A visually impaired customer must not be forced to operate the
bank account jointly with
any person or in the presence of any person.
vii) Visually impaired customers may be allowed to appoint a person/
persons as their Power
of Attorney or Mandate Holder to operate their bank account, if they so
desire.

1.1 Opening of Bank Accounts
i) All banking products offered by a bank should be made available to
visually impaired
persons.
ii) A bank must follow the same procedure for opening the account of a
visually impaired
person as it does for its other customers.
iii) A visually impaired person must be allowed to open the account
either singly or jointly
with others.
iv) A bank must allow the visually impaired customer to open a joint
account with anybody
that he/ she chooses, including person(s) who is/ are visually impaired.

business and other terms
and conditions in the presence of a witness, if required by the customer.

his/ her rights and liabilities before opening the account.
2

must be the same as
applicable to any other customer.

1.2 Withdrawal of cash / cheque book facility
i) Facilities for withdrawal of cash, as provided to all customers
regarding cash payments,
must be provided to visually impaired customers.
ii) In case a visually impaired customer makes cash withdrawals at the

Hi friends,

I think with the biometric system not yet in vogue, thumb impression
can't be verified by the banker.

I am not a legal expert, but I felt the master circular kept silent
with reference to operating accounts with LTI. It would have been
better if it explicitly stated that visually challenged people can
avail all banking facilities using LTI/signature at their choice.

Even if visually challenged people learn to sign, I very much doubt
whether all the signatures would be alike to enable bankers to honor
third party cheques.

Subject: [AI] additional thoughts on mobility

Further to my previous posting, here are some other things to consider.

Many of you know that my work requires a lot of travel both inside India
and
to other parts of the world. The fact is that I could not do my job if I
lived in North America. Why? Because there is inadequate transport and I
don't drive. America is a country in love with its cars and the transport
infrastructure reflects this. Even in the largest cities on the east
coast

it would be difficult or impossible to do the kind of work I do because
there is inadequate transport.

America is set up for people who drive. India on the other hand, is set
up

for people who don't drive. Even with the increase in the amount of
vehicles on the roads today, the infrastructure of trains, buses and
rickshaws remains intact. There is a culture of public transport.
Everyone
uses it except the very wealthy. In America most people who use public
transport are the poor and those who have lost their driving license
because
of drunk driving. Although in cities like New York, Boston and Washington
this is not as much the case, there is no arguing the fact that America is
geared to those who drive.

So what does that mean in a practical sense? In America where a blind
person can live is limited by the availability of public transport unless
they make a choice to ask others for rides all the time. It means a blind
person's work location is also limited by the availability of transport
unless he wants to depend on co-workers or taxis which are extremely
expensive. It also means that a blind person's social life is limited by
these same factors unless he is accompanied by a sighted friend or
relative.
In most places in the US, using public transportation is not a viable
option
if one is seeking equality in the ability to move about in society.

When a blind person in the west encounters some blind person from India or
another developing country and that person has an assistant with them,
some

look upon this with scorn. They observe that the blind person allows the
assistant to make decisions for them and is not in control of how the
assistant actually empowers that blind person to do his job more
effectively. But others look upon this with curiosity and some envy. In
America, one can not choose whether or not to travel with an assistant.
There are none. One either does the thing himself or it doesn't get done
at
all.

One advantage we have here is that we can choose whether or not to seek
assistance

Dear list members,

I am sharing a barrier created by IRCTC. Now no visually challenged user
can book E Ticket. If you are going to book E Ticket of Indian Rail
through IRCTC site, you may not be able to do the same. Because at the
time of filling passengers detail, you will also have to type the
character shown on the screen, which is not possible for such challenging
users in absence of sight.

Anyone please advise to tackle with this problem. Otherwise, it is my
humble advise to everybody to write a suitable request to IRCTC
authorities to make the site accessable for such challenging users as per
UN Convention please.

Thanks in anticipation.

They have also mentioned that SEBI has not given any specific instructions

I am already having a salary account with ICICI.
I believe RBI has now allowed to open a demat account of a person who uses
thumbprint instead of signature.

Is anyone here having online trading account and uses thumbprint?

well, you are right at all. But in my view if customer is agreed that, if he
sign all the cheques in the book and gives efedebit, bank manager can attest
the cheque book. because, customer is giving efedebit that, he will take all
responsibility if the cheque book is lost or miss used. Most of the banks
are not agreed in this point.

Well, such a checkbook as you mention cannot be issued until biometric
verification or some such system comes into vogue in banking.
It was thought to happen in 2009 itself by some, however, still there are
no signs of its widespread prevalence in India.
However, in the interim period, I can perceive no reason why the thumb
impression should not be countersigned by Bank manager at the time of
issuance of checkbook.
It would protect the bankers against any check fraud, entailing the safe
keep of the checkbook upon the VI customer.
Anyway a customer has to keep the checkbook safely, so why VIs are shying
away from it?
Even if it is lost, stop payment instructions can be given promptly to the
bank.
If we are to have certain rights, we should be prepared to undertake the
responsibilities as well.
If biometric system is after all adopted, then it would be a different
story altogether, as not only blind, but every one may be required to
affix thumb impression!!!

Subject: [AI] Cheque book with thumb impression

Hi all,

Though the IBA circular of November 2008 says that all the banking
facilities should be also extended to those visually impaired people who
use thumb impression, but even open minded banks/managers have stated they
do not have manual or technological capacity to verify thumb print on a
issued cheque. So they cannot issue cheque book to people who do not sign.

One of our recent callers from Bahadurgarh, has account in SBI.
Fortunately his manager was open enough to patiently listen to him and
then to us on phone, he also read the circulars. Expressing the same
incapacity, the manager asked us if there anybody so enjoying a cheque
book facility, he would like to learn how is it works.

So we want to know the people among us or outside our group who has been
given cheque book facility with:

1.. permission to use only their thumb impression to authenticate their
cheques,

2.. and their bank official does not counter signs it to validate it.

Please get back to us on or off the list on the below contacts.

Dear rajesh sir!!! in my experience, avast is the best antivirus for
ever.

I know, the people has different opinions .

but when I was using the aveera antivirus what I found is, in the
protection level that is good one, but it will delete some system files
also.

in two times, it deleted some DLL file from my computer, and the same
time following error has found in my system.

*. Windows media player is not working.

*. After sign out from the gmail account it is telling, graphic signing
out please waite, but nothing happent.

*. when I was open the utoob page, the video is not playing.

Finally, after formatting the system only my problem get solved.

So I will recommend please install, avast antivirus version 4.8.

then if u will use combofix, it will also a good solution for resolving
the mager problems.

combofix is a free ware software, u can find it in Google.

while installing the software, or running in another times, give yes or
okay to all of the dialog box.

after installing the combofix, we won't get any icon in our desktop or
start menu.

if u want run in another time, u should go to the file saved location
while you r downloading.

Hoping it will be more helpful.

never tell for sure whether a file was actually uploading properly to the
drop box file on the internet. Is there a way to monitor upload progress?
The other thing that was confusing was that the folder names in drop box

At the time, I didn't try to change any of those but I am assuming we can
change the names, right?

Hi friends,

One of my colleagues in SBI has applied for the CIF exam , Certified
Insurance Facilitator, which is the required qualification to sell SBI
life policies through Bancasurance. But his application has been
rejected on the ground that he is blind.
I came to know this when I contacted the SBI life divisional office at
Tirupati.

Then I enquired with other CIFs(insurance agents) in SBI about the
exact role of an employee selling insurance policies. They said it is
the responsibility of the concerned employee to verify the
authenticity of the documents submitted by the customer, which a blind
person can't do.

So, I would like to know from you
1. Are there any blind persons working as insurance agents?
2. Is there any legal document restraining a blind person from writing the
exam?

I personally feel, if a blind person can't perform a certain duty,
there is no point in writing an exam.

Re: [AI] Learning Tamil Braille.

2009-11-23 Thread amarnath de
webel softwares comes with proper pronunciation in human voice. As I know,
Tamil Braille is based in Bharati Braille. And I think that, pronunciation
can be learnt with the help of the above software. I have no idea about the
Braille press in Chennai.

hello Amiyoda,
if he resides in Kolkata, I think that, he can contact to webel and he
can learn Tamil Braille with the help of their software Braille writer.
he can learn the pronunciation also. This facility is also available at
Helen Keller Smriti Vidya Mandir, Krishnagar also.

Hope, this information will help you.

Hello,

I wrote this mail some time back. I am repeating it again as I did not
get any response. I hope, some Tamil friend on the list will help.

A senior member of our organisation wants to learn Tamil and he will
start his training soon. He is totally blind and uses Braille for his
personal works apart from computer.

He wants to learn Tamil Braille that he can keep notes. Can you help? I
think, a good Braille primer or an equivalent will do for a start. If I
get the address, it can be purchased. Still there will remain the
problem of pronunciation or identification of the Braille characters. In
that case, I would like request my Tamil friends to volunteer. I can
give the learner his or her cell number so that he can talk to him if
necessary.

With Best regards,
Amiyo Biswas.

Re: [AI] Fwd: Voice Recordings of Swami Vivekananda

2009-10-23 Thread amarnath de

Hi!
don't be disappoint. Ramakrishna mission is a authentic source as per my
knowledge. so we cannot ignore it. you can get a book in Braille from the
regional Braille press, Ramakrishna mission, Narendrapur, Kolkata--700016
named POWERS OF MINDS in which you can get full version of the original
text of Chicago speech. this book is cost very nominal. if any of you are
interested, you can get it from the above address.

Oh don't disappoint me!! I imagined some sort of spiritual power
listening to that weenie voice which I thought was Swamiji's. We often
speak of hoaxes; this takes the cake. But, is there a possibility of
such audio recording existing even without the knowledge of the
Ramakrishna Mutt? Being blind makes us visualise so many things and the
voice, which was certainly so soothing, doesn't exactly sound like a
hoax!!

Hello,

I also enquired of a teacher in Narendrapur Ramkrishna Mission. After
consulting his senior colleagues, he told me almost the samething. There
is
no authentic documentation to prove that SwamiVivekananda's Chicago
speech
was recorded. The speech we come across recently is not in Vivekananda's

voice.

Hi,

It appears to me that you or some one else has installed a Firefox add-on
called LastPass Password Manager.

To disable or uninstall it:

1. Go to Tools Add-ons (ALT+T, A)
2. Arrow down through the list of add-ons, or press the letter L to reach
all add-ons starting with this letter.

3. Tab till you find the Disable button or the Uninstall button.

You could also learn more about this add-on and use it. Most Firefox
add-ons are accessible.

Hello all,
After thinking and searching for an accessible microwave oven for a
couple of years, I finally landed at the right place and have acquired
one.
It is a factory made talking machine from Hamilton Beach which makes many

87108.
I am very happy with it and other visually impaired couples should
consider it.
I have posted its review, videos, audio description, manual and other
