Re: White screen on refresh

2010-03-12 Thread Brittain, Mark
Hi Joe, Frex and the rest of the list,

What I am looking for are the tickets assigned to my group but not to me. The
search is 'Status' Closed AND 'Assigned Group' = Applications AND
('Assigned Person' != Mark Brittain OR 'Assigned Person = $NULL$)

Is there is a better way to write this? All of the fields are indexed so that
is not the issue. I do know that the index is not used with the NOT operator.
Think it would help if the Assigned Person' != Mark Brittain OR 'Assigned
Person = $NULL$)  were flipped?

Thanks
Mark

Performance of your application is an area you might want to check. Its typical
signs of badly written code, that uses a bad search probably on that table
field since you say that it happens on refresh of a table field..

Make sure that you have used fields that would qualify for writing a good
query, meaning that they have been indexed. Make sure the query is optimized by
way of minimum calculations required to get the results.. constants on one side
with variables on the other side of an equation..

Hi All

This might be an odd question but I thought worth asking. Sometimes when I do a
search or refresh a table in the RUT or save a change to a form in the admin
tool my screen goes white. Really weird.

Can anyone tell me why this occurs? ARS 6.3 patch 20 on server and client.

Retriving the application name for a form

2010-03-12 Thread Lyle Taylor
Hi all,

Does anyone know of a way to determine what application a given form belongs to
using the Remedy API? So far, the best I've come up with is to pull a list of
all the applications and then pull a list of forms for each application and
then load that into a lookup data structure. That works, but it's very slow.
Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Lyle

Re: Zen of Aeroprise - Resolved

2010-03-12 Thread Thad K Esser
**
Thank you to the person that helped
me off-list. For posterity, here was the fix:
-
The Advanced Search is one of the
fields in the list of options.

If you dont see it do this:
1. Login to Admin Console
2. Go to Manage Groups - Modify
Group . Select the Group Name that this rule is being built for, Click
Next
3. In the Next Screen , Hover
the mouse cursor over Editing Group Name (The first link in the
navigation section)
4. Click on Permissions
5. Under View Personalization Console,
there is an Option Use Advanced Search for Rules and Alerts. Check
that Option
6. Click Apply Changes
7. Go to Manage Rules - Create Rules.
8. Type in Rule Name. Click Next
9. You will be able to see a new option
in the list of fields known as Advanced Search Statement. Click
Next
10. Select the ??? in the Advanced Search
Statement
11. Type in the Qualification. I guess
in your case, it will be 'Corporate ID' != $NULL$
12. Click Next and finish creating the
rule
-

These steps are 100% accurate. The
thing that tripped me up (once the option was enabled) was to look for
the checkbox for Advanced Search Statement in the LIST OF FIELDS.
Once that is checked, and the apply changes button is clicked, then
you get a place where you can enter you an advanced qualification.

Score one more for the arslist! :-)

Does anyone have any good documentation or resources they can share?
I have the installation and Configuration manual, as well as the

did put a ticket in with BMC, but thought I'd ask here as well.

I am trying to setup a Rule that will push CTM:People records to the PDA,
with the qualification of 'Corporate ID' != $NULL$. The not
equal to null is what is tripping me up. I can't seem to find
a way to enter it. The user guide says you can use an advanced qualification,
which I'm also not seeing.

Any help or insight is appreciated.

 1. Remove the previous license, add the new license, then reboot the

 2. As you mention, check to ensure that your server hostid matches
the one you entered into the trial license. If not, regenerate the trial
 license with the correct hostid.

 3. Check to make sure your AR System server license is either a

Applications require a properly licensed AR System to operate properly.

 4. Contact your BMC sales representative or BMC Partner from where

Re: Unable to select desired key field for View form

2010-03-12 Thread Mueller, Doug
Renjini,

The key field must meet a variety of very specific conditions. What you are
seeing is that there are 6
fields on the table that meet the specific criteria for being a key. The field
you want to select does not
meet those criteria.

Now, the criteria have changed over time. You did not mention the version of
the AR System server you
are using so I cannot tell whether you will find that more fields qualify for
being the key if you went to a later
version of the AR System.

If you are on version 7.5, that means there are only 6 candidate fields for the
key.

If you are on an earlier version

Originally, the key field had to be a character field of 15 characters or less.
The next release, we allowed it to be an integer field as well
A release or two later, we allowed longer than 15 character character fields to
be used.

So, you need to look at the rules in the specific release you are running to
see what level you are at with
respect to the restrictions.

Most commonly, users want to select a character field of over 15 characters and
are running a version of the
AR System that is before we expanded the options for the key to allow this.
Upgrading to a later version of
the AR System will eliminate the issue.

I hope this helps,

Doug Mueller

AR Email incoming mailbox

All,

We are on ARS v7.5 p4 on a windows 2003 server. I have configured 2 incoming
mailbox and 1 outgoing mailbox. When I disable the incoming mailbox
configuration records, outgoing works.
To debug this issue, I ran ar email in debug mode using the EmailStart.bat file
and found that after connecting to both the email accounts (incoming) it gets
in to a loop and keeps repeating

IMAP DEBUG: IMAPProtocol noop

IMAP DEBUG: IMAPProtocol noop
A7 NOOP

IMAP DEBUG: IMAPProtocol noop

Any idea what could be wrong.

Hi Brian,

Make sure that your mid tier web reporting is configured to use the DSN that is
in your reports. I have found that if a report uses a datasource other than the
one defined in the mid-tier web reporting settings you will be prompted for a
password. It will work however once you do that.

If the reports aren't working at all then you may have deeper problems. Try
running the report directly from the web reporting server. This may alert you
to any errors you are getting. Trying to open a report in the mid tier will
create a copy of the report in the windows temp directory. Try running that and
seeing what's wrong with it.

I don't tend to name my datasource the default AR System ODBC Data Source.
Its easier to discriminate from the default install if you give it a different
name. You want to make sure that your reports use the system data source that
you have set up for the purpose.

OLE spell check active link and performance

2010-03-12 Thread remedy lee
Hi,

I have created the OLE spell check plug in found in the integrating
guide.
It works well but I'm wondering if it will have any impact on
performance on the server.
My understanding is that it shouldn't since everything is run on the
client's machine.
However, I read that there are some OLE that can be AR Server side
(might have read it wrong).

If I create this spell check active link to run off HPD:Help Desk,
will there be any performance hit?

Thanks again listers.

OT Friday Humor: Special Letter from Mother to Son

2010-03-12 Thread Pruitt, Christopher (Bank of America Account)

Dearest Redneck Son,
I'm writing this slow because I know you can't read fast. We don't live where
we did when you left home. Your dad read in the newspaper that most accidents
happen within 20 miles of your home, so we moved. I won't be able to send you
the address because the last West Virginia family that lived here took the
house numbers when they moved so they wouldn't have to change their address.
This place is really nice. It even has a washing machine. I'm not sure about
it. I put a load of clothes in and pulled the chain. We haven't seen them since.
The weather isn't bad here It only rained twice last week; the first time for
three days and the second time for four days.
About that coat you wanted me to send; your Uncle Billy Bob said it would be
too heavy to send in the mail with the buttons on, so we cut them off and put
them in the pockets.
Bubba locked his keys in the car yesterday. We were really worried because it
took him two hours to get me and your father out.
Your sister had a baby this morning, but I haven't found out what it is yet so
I don't know if you are an aunt or uncle.
Uncle Bobby Ray fell into a whiskey vat last week. Some men tried to pull him
out but he fought them off and drowned. We had him cremated, he burned for
three days.
Three of your friends went off a bridge in a pickup truck. Butch was driving.
He rolled down the window and swam to safety. Your other two friends were in
the back. They drowned because they couldn't get the tailgate down!
There isn't much more news at this time. Nothing much out of the normal has
happened.
Your Favorite Aunt,
Mom

Custom CSS Styles

2010-03-12 Thread Ashcraft, Roy W CTR USAF AFWA 2 SYOS/SYOO
We're using AR System 7.1 p5, Mid-Tier 7.1 p5 with Tomcat 6.0.

I've been trying to change a single form to utilize custom CSS styles for
the field tags. This form will be displayed during briefings and they want
the font size for the fields to be larger than the default. This form is not
part of an application.

Following the instructions, I've tried to insert the tags into the
ARSystem.css file on the mid-tier server. I've tried a couple of ways. I've
tried adding the following at the bottom:

mytag {

  font-size:14px;

}

I've tried adding the following into the section about fonts (f0-f10):

.mytag :

  font-size:14px;

}

On the fields in question, I've tried adding mytag to the Custom CSS Style
box as well as .mytag.

The documentation is very unclear on this. Could someone provide me with
more detailed instructions on how to do what seems to be relatively simple
on the surface?

Thanks,

Roy

Does anyone know of a way to determine what application a given form belongs

list of all the applications and then pull a list of forms for each
application and then load that into a lookup data structure. That works,
but it's very slow. Any other ideas?

Mark,

With regards to the admin tool, I have noticed that if your server window is
set to active links and you modify and save an active link, the save takes
longer, as the objects in the server window are refreshed in the background. If
you haven't selected a specific object type in the server window and save the
active link it saves a lot faster. It is the same with forms as well.

Performance of

written code, that uses a bad search probably on that table field since you say
that it happens on refresh of a table field..

Make sure that
you have used fields that would qualify for writing a good query, meaning that
they have been indexed. Make sure the query is optimized by way of minimum
calculations required to get the results.. constants on one side with variables

To localize the system error message catalog, do this:

In Server Information , in the Advanced tab, check the Localize Server
checkbox. You may need to restart the AR server

Then open the form AR System Message Catalog with the user tool, and modify
the text of the message

Advance Interface Form - really basic question

2010-03-12 Thread Christine
I am testing the use of Advanced Interface forms. I’ve followed the
instructions in the SRM 2.2 Admin manual (appendix A) – copied the
form SRS:AdvancedInterface_WithBackend Mapping to a new form with a
naming convention for our use (pg 341). This is the only form I
copied. I then copied the workflow (pgs 343) associated and attached
workflow to new form (pg 344).

I have some questions about disassociating the original forms and
workflow from the copied forms. The manual doesn’t state outright that
I should (or should not):

1 – Disassociate the original forms from the copied and updated
workflow. In other words, should the Active Links, Filters and Guides
only be associated with the newly copied form.

2 – Remove the original Active Links from the copied and updated
Active Links. Currently the copied/updated Active Link Guides call
both the original ALs and the copied ALs.

As I am more of an admin/troubleshooter than a developer I thought
I’d see if my gut-feeling to remove the original forms/workflow from
the copied forms/workflow was correct.

Thanks in advance
Christine

Re: Advance Interface Form - really basic question

2010-03-12 Thread Vinay Vermani
According to me, OOB worflow for AIF is shared workflow and you should
attach them to the copied forms.

E.g. To make a new AIF. I will open SRS:AdvancedInterface_WithBackendMapping
and Save as SRS:AdvanceInterface_MyNewAIFName(to make a copy). Select all
the Activelinks and Edit them to attach to SRS:AdvanceInterface_
MyNewAIFName. I will do same for same for Filters and Activelink Guides.

Do not ever delete original form and associated workflow

I hope it answers your question.

Workflow newbie

2010-03-12 Thread Larry Barnes
Good morning,

I have created 2 Filters that run against any non-Standard Change
Request.

The first filters executes on Modify and the Run If statement is: (
'Change Request Status' Planning In Progress) AND ('Change Type' !=
Standard Change)

If true it reads a filed from another from, CHG:Associations with a
Set Fields If statement:
  ( 'Request ID02' = $Infrastructure Change ID$) AND ( 'Request
Type01' = Configuration Item)

A temp filed called: z1D CI_RelationshipCheck is set to the value
found in the $Request ID02$ field.

The second filter runs after the first (execution order is 1 higher) and
also Executes on Modify
  The Run if statement is:
  ( 'z1D CI_RelationshipCheck' = $NULL$ ) AND ( 'Change Request
Status' Planning In Progress) and ('Change Type' != Standard
Change)

All seems to work well, if a CI has not been related to the ticket then
an error message pops up on the screen.

What I'm trying to do, and can't figure out is,
* Once the ticket is modified the Change Request Status Field
gets changed from
Planning In Progress to Scheduled for Review
* If there is no related CI then I want this field changed back
to Planning In Progress.
* The user is required to select the Next Stage option in the
Progress Flow bar in
order to have the status changed back.
(This is what I'm trying to avoid having the user do)

Can this be done with in the second filter? This is where I'm stuck, I
would like to make this a better process than selecting the Next Stage
option twice to reset this field value.

I come form the old days of programming and having requiring the user to
select the Next Stage option twice to reset the Status filed seems like
poor programming.

Thanks for your time in looking at my dilemma,

Larry B.

Remedy skills being passed from generations, like a craft in the middle ages

With the cost of college education going up continuously, and seeing no end in
sight to this trend, and on top of that getting a degree that does not provide

that's the way to dot it

One more confirmation that history is circular

Re: Retriving the application name for a form

2010-03-12 Thread Lyle Taylor
It shouldn't be, but realistically, I need to do it for every application if I
want the full set of data, and while each individual application doesn't take
too long, getting them all takes a good 30 seconds or so. That wouldn't be so
bad, except that that's happening as the result of a user interaction in an
application and is way too long to wait for this particular interaction to
complete...

Perhaps I can just be smarter about it and only pull back applications until I
find the one that contains the given form. I could also start with the most
likely applications and then go from there. That way, most of the time, I'll
get a quick hit. If a person selects a form that doesn't belong to an
application, however, I'm back to where I started, because then they'll have to
wait for the full list to get loaded to find out that it doesn't belong to an
application...

Or maybe there's a better way to do things. This is what I'm really trying to
accomplish: I have an application that allows people to create records in
Remedy. For various reasons, I have the application running with an
administrative account, but I need to still limit the ability of people to
create records only in forms that they have permissions to. For regular group
permissions, it's easy - I just pull their list of permissions from the user
form and compare them to the permissions on the form. The snitch comes in when
the form belongs to an application and has roles assigned for the permissions.
In that case, I either needs to find an easy way to relate those roles back to
permission groups or to find out which roles the user has so I can make an
accurate check. The problem I'm seeing so far though, is that I'm still stuck
determine which application the form belongs to, because if I want to pull the
role/group associations from the Roles form, I still need to know the
application. And if I want to use the API to find out what roles a person has,
I also need the name of the application.

Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Lyle

Hi all,

Does anyone know of a way to determine what application a given form belongs to
using the Remedy API? So far, the best I've come up with is to pull a list of
all the applications and then pull a list of forms for each application and
then load that into a lookup data structure. That works, but it's very slow.
Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Lyle

Re: Retriving the application name for a form

2010-03-12 Thread LJ Longwing
This might get a bit complicated...but you have the role ID from the
formyou should be able to look in the role form and find out what
applications that role belongs to...it doesn't NEED to be unique, but might
be, if it's unique then you already have the mapping from role to group and
you can check to see if they are in that group. In the case of the role id
not being unique, you then have a list of applications you can check to
determine which app the form is a member ofbut further...if the role ID
is not unique, you could check the role/group mapping and see if they are
the same, if they are, it's irrelevant which app the form belongs to because
both reference the same group, so you can check the users
membership.does this make sense?

This might get a bit complicated...but you have the role ID from the
formyou should be able to look in the role form and find out what
applications that role belongs to...it doesn't NEED to be unique, but might be,
if it's unique then you already have the mapping from role to group and you can
check to see if they are in that group. In the case of the role id not being
unique, you then have a list of applications you can check to determine which
app the form is a member ofbut further...if the role ID is not unique, you
could check the role/group mapping and see if they are the same, if they are,
it's irrelevant which app the form belongs to because both reference the same
group, so you can check the users membership.does this make sense?

Thanks,
Lyle

Lyle,
Based on my short research this morning, I don't believe that the form knows
what application it's a member ofnot independently at least. The process
of pulling the applications and doing something similar to a '.contains()' on
the form list shouldn't be too time consuming.

Hi all,

Does anyone know of a way to determine what application a given form belongs to
using the Remedy API? So far, the best I've come up with is to pull a list of
all the applications and then pull a list of forms for each application and
then load that into a lookup data structure. That works, but it's very slow.
Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Lyle

Lyle,

Based on my short research this morning, I don't believe that the form knows
what application it's a member ofnot independently at least. The
process of pulling the applications and doing something similar to a
'.contains()' on the form list shouldn't be too time consuming.

Hi all,

Does anyone know of a way to determine what application a given form belongs
to using the Remedy API? So far, the best I've come up with is to pull a
list of all the applications and then pull a list of forms for each
application and then load that into a lookup data structure. That works,
but it's very slow. Any other ideas?

Thanks,

Wellyou could as you suggested use OLE/DDE to generate the filethis
process would require storing the template on the server, getting it to the
client machine, edit/save the fileyou could then save that file to an
attachment field on the form, then kick off a notification via filteror
create a record in the ar system email messages form with that
attachmentbut this would require allot of work client side for something
that the client doing the work doesn't actually care about...

Audit Log data

2010-03-12 Thread strauss
We are in the process of testing the move of all necessary data from an ITSM
7.0 system to an ITSM 7.6 system, which we will have to do again or at least
update prior to moving the 7.6 system into production. Several of the tables
with data are the three aliased identically (by some clueless BMC
programmer(s)) as HelpDesk System Audit Log - they are really
CTM:AuditLogSystem, HPD:HelpDesk_AuditLogSystem, and
CHG:ChangeRequest_AuditLogSystem. The HPD one has 193 K records, and the CTM
one has over 2 million records. We don't use Change enough for those records
to matter (138 of them).

Does anyone have a feel for how abandon-able this data is??? We have been
studying it, and don't really see any utility in bringing it forward. We have
never used it for anything, so I don't think we're going to miss it - unless
doing so breaks something in the plumbing. The act of importing our CTM:People
data generated one NEW CTM:AuditLogSystem record for every person imported or
updated (rrrchive overwrite moved 214,966 records); bringing in the data from
the source server would overwrite that, but why bother at all?? At this point,
those 2 million-plus records look expendable to me.

Any thoughts from the list??

If you truly do not use it, then don't bring it over. You are right that

This sounds like a browser caching issue to me - like it's mixing old and new
javascript. I would recommend having the user log out, flush their browser's
cache (delete temporary internet files) and log in again and try again. I
think you general see errors similar to this most often after migrating changes
to production, because it regenerates all the java script files when it
recompiles the form, and they aren't guaranteed to be the same as before.

Re: OT - Junior Remedy Developer - Washington DC (UNCLASSIFIED)

2010-03-12 Thread Hermann, John N Mr CTR US USA TRADOC
Classification: UNCLASSIFIED
Caveats: NONE

I agree, a foot in the door beats an unemployment check. However, of the
three candidate descriptions the only one that seems viable is the 1yr
w/degree. I would imagine that by the time a person gets 6 years of
experience they should be at a maturity point career wise to be able to
demand (figuratively) something in a higher pay band with or without a
degree to look nice on the cubicle wall.

Again, this is not intended to single out this particular job offering,
recruiter, or employer as I'm sure we have all seen similar offerings at
one time or another. I (and others) have simply used this opportunity to
point out the disconnect between the requirements and compensation
packages that (typically) come out of the HR department and the
realities that go along with the requirements. Using myself as an
example, currently I would not meet the criteria as I have neither a
degree nor 6+ years of experience. I imagine that if I were at the 6+
year (or early to mid career if you prefer) mark I would not be
considering a job in the DC area for 65-75k unless I had the opportunity
to move directly into another job at around 30-40% more compensation.

As always, the above is only my personal opinion and I wish Mr. Kitchen
and his company the best of luck in filling the position. I'm sure they
will be able to. If I was in search of an entry level developer job I
would certainly give it a hard look.

As an aside. has anyone else noticed that OOB these forms have no indexes?
So, if you have a large number of Incidents with lots of activity and you
try to 'View Audit Log', it may take a while to open up (I've seen up to 45
seconds or more!).. Adding a single index to the underlying
HPD:HelpDesk_AuditLogSystem form will bring that back down to a manageable
time ( 1-3 seconds).

I honestly haven't checked in 7.5 or 7.6, though, to see if that was cleaned
up.

Anyway, Happy Friday everyone!

Does anyone have a feel for how abandon-able this data is??? We have been
studying it, and don't really see any utility in bringing it forward. We

Announce - Ruby API for Remedy

2010-03-12 Thread John Sundberg

Quite awhile ago I wrote a Ruby API for Remedy -- I always intended to
share it -- but never got the time. Today -- I made the time.

Is it perfect - no.
Is it documented - no.
Does it work - yes.

Works with ARS 7.5 back to 6.00.
Requires Kinetic Link (free/open source) get it here:
http://www.kineticdata.com/Products/KineticLink.html

So -- if you are interested in Ruby and would like a copy -- let me
know.

Example:

require 'rubygems'
require 'link'

include Kinetic

Link.set_connection('Demo','','matrix.kineticdata.com:8081','127.0.0.1')

# get a list of all forms on arserver
Link.structures

# get a list of all users defined on arserver
Link.entries(User)

# create a record in a sample form
fields = {'2' = 'Tester', '4' = 'Tester', '8' = 'Test entry'}
Link.create(KLINK_CanonicalForm)

# find all entries matching ???
param = %|'Request ID'!=0|
existing_entry = Link::entries(KLINK_CanonicalForm,param)

# find specific entry
entry = Link::entry(KLINK_CanonicalForm, existing_entry)

# update the record
fields = {'8' = Test entry - #{Time.now}}
updated_record =  Link.update(KLINK_CanonicalForm, record,
updated_fields)

# delete that record
Link.delete(KLINK_CanonicalForm, entry)

# how many users logged in?
Link.statistics(CURRENT_USERS)

Re: Advance Interface Form - really basic question

2010-03-12 Thread Christine
Vinay,

Thanks for your response. I had already done all the copies of forms,
ALs, Filters and Guides. (The manual says to make copies of everything
- forms, ALs, filters and guides that are associated with the original
form.) My question is do I disassociate the original Active Links and
keep only the copied forms related to the copied AL, Filters and
Guides?

For instance, the AL Guide of SRS:ADN:SHR_CloseWindow_Javascript (the
original) calls the AL of SRS:ADN:CloseWindow_Javascript. My AL Guide
copy of (SRS:ADN:SHR_CloseWindow_Javascript_MyCopy) now has the ALs of
SRS:ADN:CloseWindow_Javascript and the copy which is
SRS:ADN:CloseWindow_Javascript_MyCopy. I would think that I woujld
disassociate the original AL from
SRS:ADN:SHR_CloseWindow_Javascript_MyCopy (which is my copy of the AL
Guide)

In addition, should the copied AL guide of
SRS:ADN:SHR_CloseWindow_Javascript_MyCopy only be associated with the
copied AIF form (SRS:AIF_WithBackendMapping_MyCopy) or should I keep
the relations to the original forms
(SRS:AdvancedInterface_WithBackendMapping and two other original AIF
forms).

Sorry to be so thick headed... just trying to avoid causing my own
headaches.

Christine

the Activelinks and Edit them to attach to SRS:AdvanceInterface_

Do not ever delete original form and associated workflow

I hope it answers your question.

Hello,
Yes, Kim Olds gave me the fix. Thanks again Kim!
If you are using the 64 bit version – you can try this to configure the
ODBC driver. It worked for our 64 bit Vista and 7 installs.
Go to C:\Windows\SysWOW64 and right click on odbcad32.exe and run as
administrator. This lets you enter the server.

Change Template Not Triggering Approvals

2010-03-12 Thread Pargeter, Christie :CO IS
We have created an approval mapping record a change template. The
Change Template has some tasks associated to it. But when I select the
change template the approval mapping does not get triggered. But If I
manually create a change with the EXACT same categories it works. Then
I created a change and manually selected the categories manually added
one task. Then I moved the change out of draft and the approval mapping
did not trigger. I created a template that with the correct categories
no task templates and the approvals triggered. Why are the approvals
not triggering if there are tasks associated to the change before it
leaves draft?

Can anyone tell me what I might be doing wrong or is this a feature?

Re: Retriving the application name for a form

2010-03-12 Thread Lyle Taylor
LJ, just wanted to let you know that I implemented your suggestion, and it
works great. For the forms we currently care about, there is no perceptible
delay while I determine the group to use from the role. Thanks again for the
suggestion!

Thanks,
Lyle

Lyle,
Based on my short research this morning, I don't believe that the form knows
what application it's a member ofnot independently at least. The process
of pulling the applications and doing something similar to a '.contains()' on
the form list shouldn't be too time consuming.

Hi all,

Does anyone know of a way to determine what

Truncate the Distributed Pending tables

2010-03-12 Thread Joe Castleman
All,

Due to some runaway workflow (which I've since disabled) I ended up
with 2.5 million records in the Distributed Pending table. This is
after manually whittling it down from 3.5 million, 1 at a time,
via the User client. Given the current transfer rate, it would take
10 days for the remaining queue to flush out by itself, assuming no
connectivity problems (which I can't assume, but that's another
problem).

Will it hurt anything to simply run a SQL statement truncate table
Txxx (and truncate table Hxxx) against the Distributed Pending
form? I am afraid this wil cause 2.5 million Fail updates back to
the source form, so I am thinking I should first stop AR Server. NOTE
that I am not concerned about losing the pending DSO transactions (I
am manually exporting the relevant source records, and importing them
to the target server).

Thanx in advance,

Joe C.

In that case you dont need to keep OOB workflow attached to your AIF as its
duplicate. Yes, disassociate the original Active Links from your AIF.(dont
delete).

 Vinay,

Thanks for your response. I had already done all the copies of forms,

 - forms, ALs, filters and guides that are associated with the original
form.) My question is do I disassociate the original Active Links and
keep only the copied forms related to the copied AL, Filters and
 Guides?

For instance, the AL Guide of SRS:ADN:SHR_CloseWindow_Javascript (the
original) calls the AL of SRS:ADN:CloseWindow_Javascript. My AL Guide
copy of (SRS:ADN:SHR_CloseWindow_Javascript_MyCopy) now has the ALs of
SRS:ADN:CloseWindow_Javascript and the copy which is
 SRS:ADN:CloseWindow_Javascript_MyCopy. I would think that I woujld
 disassociate the original AL from
SRS:ADN:SHR_CloseWindow_Javascript_MyCopy (which is my copy of the AL
 Guide)

In addition, should the copied AL guide of
SRS:ADN:SHR_CloseWindow_Javascript_MyCopy only be associated with the
copied AIF form (SRS:AIF_WithBackendMapping_MyCopy) or should I keep
the relations to the original forms
(SRS:AdvancedInterface_WithBackendMapping and two other original AIF
 forms).

Sorry to be so thick headed... just trying to avoid causing my own
 headaches.
