I found the lion ocr addon for nvda, is that what i should be using? I tried using it, but do not know what command to use. I tried pressing nvda and r when i had a game loaded through retroarch, but nvda started reading my desktop screen where all my apps are.

@GrannyCheeseWheel pretty much nicely summed up the staff protocol. For the record:1. Warnings don't need approval unless status is in doubt, which is pretty rare. And warnings can always be reversed, another reason there is the public record topic.2. Bans that are already par for the course, i.e. 3 warnings applied, are automatic.3. Community failure clause is, well, community failure clause.

Looks like a DNS issue. I see a socket exception being logged happening in the check update process. The error says "no such host is known", so I'm guessing it cannot resolve the host.Did you change your DNS in your network adapter settings? How do you use quad DNS? I'm trying to see if I could easily try to reproduce your setup here so I can better debug. I'm wondering why it works for reddit calls, but not this one. It could be a security feature, maybe my website is not trusted, not sure, but it definitely looks like a DNS issue.Also, I know it's a pain, but for now you can always go redownload it manually from the website.

not too big by today's standards, but big enough for a rom to not overfit the memory of the real hardware by a few bytes or so, but entire KB or more. Anyway, rhvoice is made in c++, thing that is kinda slow for this platform, even C needs very weird optimisations to run properly, like not too many global vars, constants should be static, make your functions always inline or not at all, make your loops almost always predictable, so that the compiler can perform loop unrolling, etc. That is, one must do that only if one wants performance. Otherwise, one can just mess around for a while. Besides, about the rhvoice, I see I'd need to make some modifications to the infrastructure itself, for me to be able to just grab the spoken audio as a sample buffer. So, in that alone, one can see it perhaps needs more than the standard/ancy C level of native functions, think that the nes won't provide anyway. I will presume flite works untill I can actually get to compiling the static library, voice packs, etc, maybe then I will think otherwise, upon seeing it failing. First, however, I must learn a thing or two about the nes, plus I would need an accessible emulator with a debugger included or something.

Hmm, I wonder how much control you will ultimately have over what gets offloaded to the GPU, seeing as how it's HTML. How does the game even run, like did you have to make your own sort of browser? In either case, I wonder if you could set up hardware acceleration on it. That might help even if folks do want the graphics, since the realtime synthesis expects much from the CPU to begin with, then you add drawing the graphics on top of that.I wish I had a good way of mapping what it does to my CPU. Oh sure, I can take a sample before and after the game starts, but I want an average reading and I know that windows has a graphing function inside task manager, but it's not accessible. I could use Charm, but since it's sound based, it would kind of defeat the purpose of playing the game to begin with since it's producing its own sounds to give you a realtime idea of what your CPU, disk I/O and RAM are doing.

@9, as i said it's impossible to read menus. Even if i could do it, i don't think it would work, as i think scripthook events are sent only if the game isn't paused, and you can't access the options menu without pausing.I've tried to make waypoint name reading and utterly faild, turns out waypoint blips don't have names bound to them. Sad.

Use nginx/apache for redirects like this. 301s are in the HTTP protocol specifically, not DNS. (There are DNS records for routing to other servers, called SRV records, but they're rarely employed from what I know. Matrix is the only protocol I know of that uses them.)

how to associate my python programme with a filetype

greetings everyone, I just randomly got this question, and haven't quite found some complete answer yet, lets say I have just made a superpower type of files that could do what no one did or can do but how ever I am stil too stupid to associate it to be opened on my programme, so, lets  name my extention, hmmI just said it! .hmm, good file extention so, I want my programme's users to be able to select my app with the open with dialog just like they do with vlc for example, but this time with the file extention .hmm, and whenever  they open a file with my programme it lawnches my programme and pass it the file path, for exampleI press enter on file.hmmit does that thenhmm_opener c:\users\hmm\downloads\file.hmmis that possible? thanks

@jonikster, you've at least improved... A little.Now... Python isn't buggy -- and there's not a problem with detecting errors at runtime. Hell, even MOO does it, and you don't see anyone complaining about that. We've had dynamic typing and run-time error detection since the early 90s if not earlier. It works well in most settings. And no, you can't use a game written for Windows/Mac/Linux on a mobile device because its written for a computer with a keyboard, mouse and optionally joystick. Notice how I said 'game'. You can definitely use an app written in Python on any operating system provided the libraries your using are versatile enough and Python can run on that platform. For games, if your using SDL and you've rapped the input functions to dynamically adjust themselves based on platform, you've just eliminated that problem entirely.Bug-free: there is no such thing as a bug-free thing in existence. Everything has bugs. The most stable nuclear launch computers have bugs. Spacecraft systems have bugs. Everything does if you dig hard enough and play with it enough.

Ok got that working. Now i have another problem: Whatever directory i scan, it says no items. I've updated the database and all that, but still no items. I hvae roms for rhythm tengoku for example, but it just says no items! How do you guys successfully complete the scan without it saying no items? I've tried manual scan as well, but it says no items.

@30:Good question about the graphics. I'll say that my implementation here does not use the GPU much, if at all, and I'm looking into the best way to optimize drawings to the HTML canvas that reduce calls and execution time on the CPU. For something that's seems as simple as drawing rainbow dots on the screen, the FPS drops significantly when it's active in complex scenes. I pride myself in learning how all this works and building my own solutions. It would be nice to fix this because I think it has a really cool, unique look.@31:I love that you enjoy the music. For me this is a musical experience first and a game second.I've definitely thought about a recording feature before. For debugging things and exporting audio for trailers I built such a thing into my engine that outputs WebM files. After exporting I typically fight with ffmpeg to extract the audio into a more usable format. I think I could get it to export to uncompressed WAV if I spent more time on it. After that it'd be relatively simple to expose a UI to players for recording and exporting audio.The biggest reason I haven't already is because I personally think the interactivity and ephemerality of the music is important to its experience. Like Music for Airports, it's a system that's never the same twice. But that's a philosophical matter and I'm happy to explore how to let folks experience it how they want.

Perhaps each program should have it's own entry, but you would just choose what OS you'd like to view, perhaps from tabs at the top?I also recommended a feature for specifying accessibility and details for different update channels, such as canary, beta, public alpha ETC, just to put that out there.

Hmm, I don't remember needing OCR to use it. Iirc you just use screen review to get your mouse into the interface, then press up/down arrow keys to browse through the sounds. The category filters are also doable too, as well as setting parameters to automation, but it's been a while since I've done it. It's a bit tricky but doable.My favorite piano in Keyscape is the Vintage Vibe I believe it's called, it's basically a really modern rhodes. But tehre are other good ones.

helloyou must enable accessibility, to do it: 1. Open retorarch.2. When your screenreader will say retroarch, press backspace, then press down arrow and press enter. Hello! I installed Retroarch to my pc, but i have to use NVDA OCR all the time, the arrows don't work if i don't use OCR. So how do you set up Retroarch and play these games successfully, it's hard to set it up if i use NVDA OCR.

Chris, I don't think about sablelike tool, but, ok. Please, add simple system. Mana, levels, abilities armory, or lvl. The lvl's are really, really good and if you can't or won't add full rpg combat, add simple exp level battle system with str and def stats, and of course hp .

Fortunately, these practices eventually made our way to these villages as well, I've seen many a tribe taking up the practice! Of course, they are nothing like those empire that are beginning to grow. I trust news has reached you from other traveling folk? I must say, the new Assyrian Empire is surely doing great for itself! Happenings may be calming down in the legendary land of Egypt after the ending of their intermediary period, however we shall witness more great events from this part of the known world, I foresee it! What would you say to this? How is civilization progressing in your empire, wherever it may be originally located? Is your royalty treating you with mutual respect or are they tyranically ruling over you like the maniacle monsters some of them are? Wait... have I just said that out loud? well, what will happen with it is I will publish my findings in a kind of semiformal, technical essei in the public domain or something. I will try to provide as much info as I can about the workings of a nes, how would this limit or impower audiogames, ideas on how one can make an audiogame for this platform, complete with tts engines, mainly flite.On that subject, I think that should be all I do, I will let other enthusiasts tinker with my findings after that. Note, however, this might take a lot of time, as I am burdoned with school and other stuff besides, like too other nearly completed projects, at least one of which shall be released to the community.

@dardarThis is pretty cool, but I would really like to see a couple things added.If their could be a section where the submitter or a mod could put some extra instructions on how exactly to use the program effectively that would be helpful.A user rating system separate from the author rating system, where each vote has the date of entry next to it may also help as programs can change over time and people's experiences may be different from the submitter's.A bit of clarification on virtual cursor use in the ratings might be nice as well.  In NVDA for instance, I definitely wouldn't consider a program where I sometimes had to quickly use NVDA's review cursor to see extra info on a control to be a problem...  But maybe I'm in the minority?Also, I worry about how multiple platforms are listed for each program, but accessibility on those platforms may be unknown, or change separately from others.  It makes me wonder if having a separate listing for each OS even if programs are repeated would be good, or some kind of (verified to work with OS as of date) item in the entry would be good.

I recommend GTA only if you're interested in creating carnage in an open world on a completed save and watching people react to it. Don't get it for the story if you can't see, watch a Letsplay or a cutscene movy for that. I heard GTA VI is probably going to have destructable environments. That would be cool as fuck if someone would make a usable trainer for it.

@jonikster, Dynamic typing is not specific to Python. JS does it, C# has an option to make your variables dynamic, C++ has the auto keyword, and all of them will crash if you misuse a string as an integer. Well, not all (Silly _javascript_), but most will at least warn you if not complain.I also recommend you read about Python type annotations and things like flaygate and mypy, which further defeat your point about dynamic typing.@cyrmax_it, there are no tutorials concerning building an audiogame. None. Fortunately, there are a lot of articles concerning videogames, and those aren't much different beyond graphics. Use those if you want general game theory.

@22: Yeah, c# is a good enough language for any kind of project nowadays, I am quite surprised how it evolved from a windows exclusive, proprietary thing, but then, so did swift.Anyway, to your second question, I am more than sure you can't find any audiogame tutorials for c#, as you barely have some with python.to your first question, DK, I would count on not for now. However, once .net 6 and maui comes around, there will be more options for the command line and vscode, though you might not get code completion on the first release, however the command line will certainly be more capable in maui, according to what I herd at the .net conf.However, I don't think dotnet build/dotnet publish/dotnet run won't work, I think the templates don't work as they can't be gotten through anything else than visual studio.Correction: what I said about maui only applies to xamarin projects, though I think it can be applied to monogame and other tools like this as well.

@155-6, your partial issue here is that board games are a tricky beast to write. I'll sit on this for a bit, I'm still tampering with my own creation. We'll see what comes of my efforts, I have an interesting recursion bug to squash, but hopefully I'll have something workable by the end of the week, I'm juggling code and a research paper, the former being much more fun than the latter. My hope is to finish my current project by the end of the week and then try and bring back a game which is currently unavailable do to the lack of a server to register its demo for. If it sounds as dumb as it looks, that's because it is.In general, though, I'd appreciate some notes on sound management. Lucky Thirteen only uses mono sounds, but what if I want them to play in 2 or 3D space? How is music and ambience management different from your typical sound handling?
