Issue 1500 in chromium: Array literals should be connected to Array.prototype, even in the JavaScript console.

2008-09-05 Thread codesite-noreply

Issue 1500: Array literals should be connected to Array.prototype, even in
the JavaScript console.
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=1500

Comment #1 by [EMAIL PROTECTED]:
This is likely intentional behavior of the web inspector. When you said
you couldn't
reproduce the bug in Safari, which version of Safari were you using? We're
using a
slightly newer version of the WebKit inspector (where the JS console you
refer to
lives), so it may reproduce with a Safari nightly build as well.

Issue 446 in chromium: Double click top bar opens new tab

2008-09-05 Thread codesite-noreply

Issue 446: Double click top bar opens new tab
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=446

Comment #5 by randomy:
I've just noticed that middle-clicking the empty tab area (or title bar)
brings up the right-click menu. Other applications do nothing when I
middle-click the title bar. It makes perfect sense to me to make a new
tab open instead. This would keep consistency everywhere.

1. Double-click stays consistent with other applications and just changes
maximized/window state
2. Middle click stays consistent within Chrome as it usually opens whatever
you are clicking on in a new
tab.

Issue 1566 in chromium: Printing from paypal.com/shipnow is offset and doesn't align to printing paper

2008-09-05 Thread codesite-noreply

Issue 1566: Printing from paypal.com/shipnow is offset and doesn't align to
printing paper
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=1566

New issue report by [EMAIL PROTECTED]:
Product Version : 0.2.149.27 (1583)
URLs (if applicable) : www.paypal.com/shipnow
Other browsers tested: Firefox, IE
Add OK or FAIL after other browsers where you have tested this issue:
  Safari 3:
 Firefox 3: OK
  IE 7: OK

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Create a new shipping label
2. Print the label

What is the expected result?
The label prints equidistant and centered on the paper with relatively
small margins

What happens instead?
When the label prints, it is offset by 1 inch on the top of the page which
when printing to Avery 5126 printing stickers causes the label to print
over onto the next sticker and is unusable. IE and Firefox do not have this
offset.

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.

Issue 60: No way to delete a downloaded file
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=60

Comment #21 by unknownbrackets:
bksening,

Okay. I understand now, and I think that's a separate bug from this one
(which might
be solved by this one.)

Either the developer who duped it misunderstood you, as I did, or thought
the best
resolution was to allow you to delete it afterward (maintaining the
quick/dialog-less
downloading feature.)

IMHO it was better as a separate bug, which might depend on this one. Once
this was
fixed it could be revisited to ensure and verify the separate use case.

Issue 1502 in chromium: Scaled (Zoom) Pixel Image Blur

2008-09-06 Thread codesite-noreply

Issue 1502: Scaled (Zoom) Pixel Image Blur
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=1502

Comment #1 by tobias.lind:
I can confirm this problem.

At the very least there should be a way to turn this off in the browser,
but since
there's no way for web developers to control this image interpolation (it's
not
uncommon to use smaller images blown up a bit as a design choice) I suggest
that it
gets disabled completely for when scaling images up. Bilinear interpolation
is better
suited for scaling images down, when scaling them up it really does nothing
for the
image quality and in fact it simply ruins the image by making it blurry.

A feature that will no doubt be introduced(hopefully soon). I would also
like some
way of using the mouse to go to full screen mode (I'm using a wireless
mouse and am
not always close to the keyboard to press F11) - the only reason I use
gestures in
Firefox is so that I can use the mouse to go to full screen mode, but I'd
like an
option in a menu or some kind of discrete yet predictable button to go full
screen
(something by the close, maximise, minimise buttons perhaps).

Issue 119: Install Fails on W2K8 with low-rights user
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=119

Comment #11 by mike.diack:
I agree. This installation needs a rework. I'm seeing the same problems on
an XP Pro
SP3 system - install chrome (beta) as administrator. Then I can't run it as
anything
other than administrator, because the executables are installed stupidly in
the
profile directory of administrator and are thus unreachable via limited
users - which
is what I normally run as.

Why on earth haven't google used a normal installer like they did for
Google Earth?

Issue 29 in chromium: Gmail window content does not resize correctly in application shortut windows

2008-09-06 Thread codesite-noreply

Issue 29: Gmail window content does not resize correctly in application
shortut windows
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=29

Comment #8 by [EMAIL PROTECTED]:
This problem occurs even in normal browser-mode (so not needed to create
it as an
application shortcut). And as Lucas wrote, the problem is only occurs if
the resize
was vertically (as dragging the border or new content in vertically - such
as
bookmark bar, etc.).

// OS is Vista SP1, if it's matter.

This is a very rare and unique circumstance. I was going to mark it as a

Comment #5 by David.Peacham:
Master password is such an essential feature I cannot believe Chrome has
been
launched without it.

Currently I am using Chrome to access my Google services, and for general
browsing. I
am using Firefox for all password-protected sites other than Google. Would
be nice to
be able to use Chrome for everything, simply because it runs faster.

Issue 444 in chromium: Pressing ALT-TAB cancels tab dragging session

2008-09-06 Thread codesite-noreply

Issue 444: Pressing ALT-TAB cancels tab dragging session
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=444

Comment #4 by shomron:
I disagree adamantly. If you meant that you can't drop tabs in other
*chrome*
windows, you are mistaken. But it is possible as long as you can see both
chrome
windows.

Here's the problematic scenario:

1. Open two chrome *windows*.
2. Stack a third unrelated window between them.
3. Now try to drag a tab from the top chrome window into the bottom hidden
chrome
window. Oh, it seems you can't because you can't cycle the hidden one up to
visibility while dragging! This is most certainly a bug.

Issue 1618: Google Chrome doesn't remember settings for 'Clear browing data'

New issue report by dom.stapleton:
Product Version : 0.2.149.29 (1798)
URLs (if applicable) : n/a
Other browsers tested:
Add OK or FAIL after other browsers where you have tested this issue:
  Safari 3: OK
 Firefox 3: OK
  IE 7: OK

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Select 'Clear browsing data' from the Tools menu.
2. Check or uncheck items to clear.

What is the expected result?
Google Chrome doesn't remember which item should and should not be cleaned.

What happens instead?
Items are reset to default values when you re-open the dialog.

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.

It would be very helpful if Google Chrome remembered which settings you
suggest for clearing the browsing history. Especially if you clear your
history often and want to save your cookies each time, for example.

Issue 1619 in chromium: Canvas globalCompositeOperation 'lighter' is ugly

2008-09-06 Thread codesite-noreply

Issue 1619: Canvas globalCompositeOperation 'lighter' is ugly
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=1619

New issue report by Ilmari.Heikkinen:
Product Version : see about:version
URLs (if applicable) : http://glimr.rubyforge.org/cake/missile_fleet.html
Other browsers tested:
Add OK or FAIL after other browsers where you have tested this issue:
  Safari 3: OK
 Firefox 3: OK
IE 7: FAIL, No canvas support

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Create a canvas, var ctx = canvas.getContext('2d')
2. Draw something
3. Set ctx.globalCompositeOperation = 'lighter'
4. Draw something on top of the existing image

What is the expected result?

The new drawing blended on top of the other, using the 'lighter' blend mode
(whatever that means, it looks like a suspicious mix of screen and color
dodge on Gecko and Safari.)

What happens instead?

The new drawing is blended on top of the other, using something that looks
like the add blend mode, blowing out my carefully tweaked gradients.

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.

See the URL above with e.g. Safari vs. Chrome.

Tested on a laptop with an integrated ATI chip, Mobile Radeon 9000 or
somesuch, no SM 2.0 support (so if you're doing GLSL blending, that's
unlikely to work.)

in my case i use a logitech mouse and the setpoint software to configure
the keys. i
configured my middle button to display the desktop. and if i click on a

middle key the desktop is shown. if i configure setpoint to do nothing when
clicking
the middle key nothing happens in chrome when i click a link. so i don´t
unterstand
why it happens when you do that and i didn´t know the feature until your
post.

i only ment that the most mouse producers give you the possiblity (by
driver) to
configure what should happen when you click the middle key. and if chrome do
something else with the middle key it would not be the expected behaviour
for the
user (in my opinion)?!

Issue 13 in chromium: Closing last tab also closes window

2008-09-06 Thread codesite-noreply

Issue 13: Closing last tab also closes window
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=13

Comment #51 by rymo81:
overriding the meaning of standard controls?

Does Windows shut down when the last application window is closed? No; the
user has
to click to the menu option that specifically says Shut Down My
Computer. In the
same regard, the little x in my browser that means Close This Tab DOES
NOT and
SHOULD NOT EQUAL Terminate This Program.

Please, [EMAIL PROTECTED], explain how we are all mistaken, for every other
tabbed/windowed program in existence today will need to be updated to
conform to your
new meaning of standard controls.

Issue 367 in chromium: Machine learning for omnibox (match input strings to result URLs)

2008-09-06 Thread codesite-noreply

Issue 367: Machine learning for omnibox (match input strings to result URLs)
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=367

Comment #8 by edmunc:
Just to add another case when this (poor matching inside URL components) is
annoying
- I like to look once in a while at what new issues appear on
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/, so I type chromium issues, but
the above
address is never displayed, links to individual issues appear instead
(since they
have issue and chromium in title)

Issue 35 in chromium: Maxime on second larger monitor not working

2008-09-06 Thread codesite-noreply

Issue 35: Maxime on second larger monitor not working
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=35

Comment #27 by rjw.pope:
For all ultramon users: turn off extended taskbar and try it then. this has
solved
the problem for me. The browser now maximises adequately on both monitors
(1440x900 +
1024x768).

i think [EMAIL PROTECTED] (comm 25) has a point. my issue
seems to be
with the extended taskbar facility of UltraMon whereas his issue can't be
due to that
feature unless he has a similar program.

Any other programs running which cause the maximisable desktop area to
change
(Windows sidebar + always on top)?

Issue 1623 in chromium: Security: Update download fails even though Chrome works perfectly

2008-09-06 Thread codesite-noreply

Issue 1623: Security: Update download fails even though Chrome works
perfectly
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=1623

New issue report by mahaniok:
Product Version : apparently, 0.2.149.27

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Go to About Google Chrome window

What is the expected result?
Information about new update available.

What happens instead?
Message that update server is not available, with error 3 or 7.

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.

Reported here:
http://habrahabr.ru/blogs/google_chrome/39118/#comment_934154 (in Russian).

Basically, Google Chrome is usable to surf the Internet, but updates are
not downloaded (possibly, due to firewall restrictions), providing cryptic
error codes. May comprise a security hole.

Issue 1592 in chromium: compile-break, incompatible libnss3?

Issue 1592: compile-break, incompatible libnss3?
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=1592

Comment #4 by [EMAIL PROTECTED]:
ah, thanks Lars :)

p.s. I was expecting something like this but I was not expecting that the
search
isn't fulltext and/or doesn't ake already closed reports into account
(search for
libnss does show only this report).
p.p.s and I also can't close my own report or mark it as dup. Lot of steps
backward
compared to bugzilla imho.

ah, it's in the drop-down. yay, rather confusing interface.
anyway, non 64bit is a killer for me and I don't care on binary-only flash
at all.
So, I'll stick with browsers that are 64bit. Thanks anyway.

Issue 535 in chromium: Support cookies on file://

2008-09-06 Thread codesite-noreply

Issue 535: Support cookies on file://
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=535

Comment #7 by lcamtuf:
Cookies are *strictly* a HTTP mechanism as per RFC 2109. There should be no
reasonable expectation for them to work for protocols other than HTTP, much
less
file:///, and it is not clear what their behavior should be, and what rules
of
security compartmentalization should apply.

Some example questions: should cookies for file:///c:/foo/ be shared with
file:///c:/bar/? what about cookies for file://otherhost/baz? should
cookies from
ftp://example.com be shared with http://example.com? what about HTML files
downloaded
to local disk from the Internet, should they keep their original context,
or intrude
that of any HTML code installed locally? Lacking clear and consciously
defined rules,
this is a ticking time bomb.

Historically, various browsers followed somewhat inconsistent rules in this
department, mostly out of oversight. Most of these mechanisms have
undesirable
security consequences, too. A very small fraction of applications took the
availability of file:// or ftp:// or SMB/NFS cookies for granted and
started to rely
on this undocumented mechanism for unusual applications. I would be willing
to pretty
strongly assert that this is a failing on the side of the application, not a
particular browser.
